Det var en rød knallert. Den kørte så hurtigt, at luftrykket fik mine armhulehår til at blafre. En knallert. Det var noget nyt. I alle de somre, jeg havde tilbragt i mormors gule hus, havde jeg aldrig nogensinde set en knallert før. Malaika glaeder sig til at vaere sammen med sine faetre, som hun plejer at vaere hver sommer, hvor de alle samles i mormors dejlige hus. I år har hun noget saerligt, som hun gerne vil vise dem - hun har nemlig fået hår under armene. Men Lau og Alvin har andre ting i hovedet, for der er nemlig kommet en ny pige til sommerlandet, og lige pludselig er Malaika ikke laengere i centrum, og sommeren forløber ikke helt, som hun havde forestillet sig...
