Story
As Richard fought to focus his mind on his need to remain conscious, the breathless voices sounded to him as if they were coming from some great, dim distance. He wasn't sure who they were. He knew that he knew them, but right then it just didn't seem to matter. He struggled to put voice to his burning concern, but he couldn't form the words, couldn't get out any more than a gasping moan.

Has potential
I enjoyed this story, although I feel it was a bit more predictable than some of Goodkind's earlier works in the series. That said, it has started a new saga and hopefully it continues in a good light.
As for the performance, it was read well, although there were occasions where it seemed like they were reading it for the first time and so emphasis was placed on the wrong words. The pronunciation of the name Jagang was continually pronounced Ja-gong and it may have been driving me slightly nuts by the end. It would have been nice for that to be consistent with the pronunciation in previous titles.
Despite these niggles, it was an enjoyable story and I will be getting the next title once it's available on Audible.

Replace narrator
What would have made Death's Mistress better?
A Narrator that knew at least some of the context, previously used pronunciations and was able to read the words correctly and not the words they thought they saw.
Who might you have cast as narrator instead of Christina Traister?
I'll give anyone else a try
Any additional comments?
For the first time in a long time I'm going to have to read a book as the early narration destroyed this for me

Packs in a lot of action
What did you like best about Death's Mistress? What did you like least?
There is a lot of action, but not much new information on Nicci or Nathan's background.
Would you be willing to try another one of Christina Traister’s performances?
No, the voices were flat.

Good story but a tad predictable.
I will start by saying that I loved the Sword of Truth series but I didn't really get on with this one. Although the story in itself is good and it's good spending time with some other characters I found it all too predictable, certain parts felt rushed and it came across as quite self righteous.

The most annoying narrator ever in the whole series!
First of all all books so far by told by a male narrator and now this one is narrated by a female who has no clue how to pronounce names like Jagang, Sulachan and mane others. At least she didn’t called Kahlan, KALÁN like once someone read her name in the previous series. I wonder why narrators do not do research of what has been done previously, those could have been easily avoidable mistakes.
Regarding the story I will give an update once I finish the book if that is this narrator lady does not drive me crazy.
