About this listen

Collins brings the Queen of Crime, Agatha Christie, to English language learners.

Agatha Christie is the most widely published author of all time and in any language. Now Collins has adapted her famous detective novels for English language learners. These carefully abridged versions are shorter with the language targeted at learners of English.

Poirot is supposed to be on a relaxing holiday in Egypt, but soon finds himself caught in the middle of a confusing murder.
The obvious suspect has an alibi, and not a single other person seems to have any reason to want to murder the beautiful young victim.
Can Poirot find out the truth before the murderer strikes again?

This fantastic story has totally been ruined by poor narration. David Suchet’s character voices are hideously painful to listen to. The worst are Mrs Gardner (who sounds like Homer Simpson pretending to be a woman’ in a mocking voice), Poirot (who’s accent is so heavy it’s hard to understand), miss Brewster, and pretty much every female character.
This recording is so bad I had to give up and get a refund. Such a shame because I love this book.

Great story let down by rubbish narration
