When Christa joins a tour group heading deep into the snowy expanse of the Rocky Mountains, she's hopeful this will be her chance to put the ghosts of her past to rest. But when a bitterly cold snowstorm sweeps the region, the small group is forced to take shelter in an abandoned hunting cabin. Despite the uncomfortably claustrophobic quarters and rapidly dropping temperature, Christa believes they'll be safe as they wait out the storm.

She couldn't be more wrong. Deep in the night, their tour guide goes missing...only to be discovered the following morning, his severed head impaled on a tree outside the cabin. Terrified, and completely isolated by the storm, Christa finds herself trapped with eight total strangers. One of them kills for sport...and they're far from finished. As the storm grows more dangerous and the number of survivors dwindles one by one, Christa must decide who she can trust before this frozen mountain becomes her tomb.

I enjoyed this story, it was addictive. A tad predictable with clues along the way. Definitely worth a read though!

A whodunit in the snow.

This is my first Darcy Coates read even though I have known of her for a long time and the fact she is an Aussie and lives near me I have just never taken the time to read her before. This book was awesome and a great winter read.

We follow Christa as she and her boyfriend attend a tour into the frozen landscape of the Rockey Mountains for a weekend away in a cabin. We meet lots of other characters on the tour bus as they make there way before a tree across the road forces them to walk the rest of the way.

A killer is amongst the group and what started out as a quite getaway turns deadly as they are picked off one by one in some gruesome ways. Who is doing the killings and why? Will they survive the harsh elements and the killer before they can be rescued? As events from Christas past return to the forefront she must do anything she can to make it out alive.

This is a very good who done it mystery with some creative and bloody deaths. I went back and forth numerous times on who I thought the killer was and the reveal was a shock to me. The landscape adds another layer of dread to the whole situation and all the characters are believable, unique and bring alot to the overall story. Darcy builds the tension with ease and the plot moves along never being dull.

Fans of thrillers and slashers will enjoy this one for sure and is a good one to read around the winter time. 4.5 stars overall.

great who's doing it mystery. kind of had it figured out but only loosely. 2nd book by this author and I've really enjoyed both.

I have loved all od Darcey Coates books but this one was a bit too gory and graphic for my liking. The end dragged on as well.
overall a good story if you like graphic descriptions of decapitation.

This is an excellent story that will keep u on the edge of your seat. The author did a fantastic job placing me in that environment and topped it with a twist i never saw coming. Fantastic read, highly recommend
