It was over too soon

I enjoyed myself when I stumbled upon 14 a few years back. I couldn't put it down. The same goes for The Fold and now this new set of stories. If you are into anything that makes you think then this is for you. Definitely worth the credit.

Love Clines' Writing & Porter's Narration

So, what is not to like about the writing of Peter Clines paired with Ray Porter's voice?!?!? This was an excellent compilation of short stories that were well narrated by both narrators. I particularly enjoyed the first short story (the title escapes me) and the title story. The stories were of varying lengths and all of them kept my interest. The only complaint I have is that some of them ended too abruptly; but perhaps that is just a sign that they were so good that I wanted more! The abrupt endings of some of the stories was what kept this from being a 5 star rating.

Readers Shan't Complain Either

Wonderful collection... Weirdly eclectic and amusing.... You've got your aliens, zombies, superheroes, artificial beings, werewolves, lawmen, mad scientists, etc... I liked all the stories, which can be unusual for some collections, and loved most... If you like the author's other works you'll definitely enjoy... If you haven't read him this would be a nice introduction... There's a nice post "Ex" story in here, and many w/ wonderful twists and reveals... The performance is fantastic...

Out of the Box stories

This book ended to soon for me. I could keep listening to these type of stories and I like the way they tie back to the books.

Great selection of short stories

Peter Clines does it again, this time in short form. Ray Porter, as always, brings Clines stories to life with his amazing narration.

Well Narrated

Pretty good, some stories were great, but I felt I barely got into one before the next story started. It was sometimes difficult to tell that a new story had begun since they don't seem to always have titles. Some stories were a bit gross for me. I like clines work, just thought this was a collection of both good and bad, jumbled together.

Buy this if you have read any of Mr.Clines books or if you want a taste of a great author

I love the fact each story is completely different.
You find some shared universes. but the perspective and originality of each story has me very impressed.

I believe the short story is the hardest form of writing, and when done correctly is the most rewarding.

A must read for all fans and a goof example if you do not know his work.

Thank you for an enjoyable afternoon.

Peter Clines Is a Spinner of Wonder

Don't let the short run time make you think it's not worth a credit.

There's half a dozen stories here with plots worthy of full novels. Clines manages to convey them concisely & colourfully.

Top Marks.

EX cellent

I loved this book so many cool stories all well written and read. The icing on the cake was the final tale, set some point, (150 years I think) in the Ex heroes universe. Humans have come back but the X virus lies dormant in some creating a more domestic issue for those few whom have it and who should have died but came back. Great short tales and well read worth listening to if you’re a fan of mister Clines. I am

Great book

Another fantastic book by Peter Clines, well worth the purchase and the collection of stories in this are all good, I especially love flesh trade which I would love to see expanded into a full novel. I recommend this to any fan of Peter or even if you love this type of fantasy/ horror/ humour

An interesting collection

A small little audiobook, less than 5 hours, that has Clines style throughout.

There's a little bit for everyone in here, time travel, zombies, robots, love story, horror.

When listening to short story books, I always imagine if it was a full book would it be any good, and in this there are at least 3 that I'd be intrigued to listen to an extended version.

Between Science and Superstition.....

A Superb short story collection excellently narrated. Stories worthy of the Twilight Zone with some tying into Clines other works. Contraption being the grandest of finales.

The best thing(s) Peter Clines has written

I think Peter Clines is better known for his novels, which -- to be honest -- I consider to be of rather variable quality. I liked 14 and Dead Moon, but the other's I'm not so impressed by. The Fold was based on a clever idea, but the story was told in a way that I did not find very convincing. This collection of stories, however, has all the hits from Clines' novels, and none of the misses. The stories cover a range of subjects, told in a number of different styles, but are all thought-provoking, and some are funny at the same time. In some of Clines' novels, the humour seems to me to be a distraction from the plot, but that isn't the case here. This isn't just the best things that Peter Clines has written, it's one of the best collections of short stories by any author I've read in the last few years.
