Da sie so Erbin eines Vermögens auf der Nordseehalbinsel Eiderstedt wäre, kommt die Fremde denjenigen in die Quere, die damals den Familienbesitz geerbt haben. Als dann eine Mordserie Husum erschüttert, beginnt Theodor Storm seine Ermittlungen auf den alten Höfen Eiderstedts.
