Das Mütterlein mit dem Spinnrad in Dornbirn: Als in Dornbirn noch an den langen Winterabenden die Nachbarn in den Spinnstubaten zusammenkamen, das Weibervolk mit Kunkel und Rädle, die Mannsleute mit der unvermeidlichen Tabakspfeife, erschien auf einer solchen Stubat allabendlich ein altes Mütterlein und setzte sich mit seinem Spinnrade in die hinterste Ecke, wo es dann bis zum allgemeinen, oft sehr späten Aufbruche spann. Das Weiblein mischte sich nie ins Gespräch, mochte noch so viel erzählt, gelacht und gescherzt werden. Eigentlich war das seltsame Wesen jedermann unbekannt, doch ließ man es unbefragt kommen und gehen.
