Einer um den anderen Mieter wird tot aufgefunden oder verschwindet spurlos. Die pensionierte Schneiderin Frau Rauhaar ist sich sicher, es gibt einen einzigen Mörder und der wohnt im Haus. Die Parapsychologin Nadja Knoll ist anderer Meinung: Das Haus sei womöglich ein Unglückshaus, ein verfluchter Ort, das Haus selbst sei sozusagen schuld an den grausigen Geschehnissen. Niemand erkennt ein klares Muster hinter den horrenden Fällen. Die Polizei ist ratlos. Bis sie rein zufällig auf eine bedeutende Spur stößt. Viel zu spät.
