Als Mika Mäander eines Morgens aufwacht, hat sich alles um ihn herum verändert. Er liegt zwar noch in seinem Bett, aber über ihm ist nur noch der Himmel zu sehen. Das Haus ist über Nacht verschwunden! Das ist in letzter Zeit schon an anderen Stellen der Erde passiert. Man nennt es das Futschikato-Ereignis. Mika stellt fest, dass auch das Haus von seinem besten Freund Otto nicht mehr steht. Gemeinsam mit seiner Mutter bricht er auf, um ein neues Zuhause zu suchen und Otto wiederzufinden. Auf ihrer Reise kommen sie durch äußerst ungewöhnliche Städte. An welchem Ort sollen sie bleiben?
