Lukas war ein Arzt, ein Heiler, ein Schüler des Paulus, der durch die gesamte griechische Welt gereist ist. Lukas will die Geschichte von Jesus der ganzen Welt öffnen. Er ist ein Geschichtenerzähler, der das Leben Jesu auf einer sehr persönlichen Ebene erzählt. Dazu benutzt er einen besonderen Stil, indem er sie in Form eines Briefes niederschreibt. Deswegen entstammt dem Lukas-Evangelium auch die Weihnachtsgeschichte.
