I really wanted to like this story. The summary was good and I was looking for a short book to listen to. Unfortunately, the female lead is kind of unlikeable. The female narrator with her nasally voice is like fingernails on a blackboard. The male narrator I found to have a nice voice, but that’s kind of the problem. He’s supposed to be a bad ass biker but he sounds more like a Californian surfer. And the villain of this piece stood out from a mile away as soon as we met the character. Zero suspense. Zero surprises. I’m pretty sure every reader could see what was coming and who would be involved. Okay for a freebie but left feeling disappointed.
