I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this story. The pace is of the story telling and length of the story is just perfect. It covers several sensitive topics that are true of today. These stories are dark but need to be told to expose the evil in our world and make the perpetrators pay for their crimes.

I have just finished listening to the entire DI Kelly Porter series 12 books. The whole series kept you guessing whodunit , but what stood out the most was how near perfect the actual police procedures were and the country areas. Couldn't help falling for the characters in the book especially Ted. Narrator 👍 . Author any follow on for the series or maybe a new DI?Highly recommended!

It was too sexually explicit for me and I wasn't expecting it to be so graphic. The narrator is excellent though. Thank goodness for the audible returns policy.

Couldn't listen to it

The descriptive scene of the little Jack Russell dog being used as training bait for fighting dogs is absolutely awful & really upset me. So unnecessary. I have stopped listening and deleted this book from my library but this scene continues to haunt me.

Too graphic & I couldn’t listen any more. Only given 1 star as it was the minimum to be able to leave a review

Poorly written and in desperate need to editing, and with a narration that could have saved this book - but didn’t. I’m such a loyal Audible user that I persevered while rolling my eyes.
That’ll teach me for luxuriating in the works of Hilary Mantel and jumping onto a work like this.
But I must say: as much as I really worked to stick with this bland effort... I’m still grateful for the diversity of Audible’s offering.
And no I don’t work for Audible! I just love ’em!

Half way through this book I was feeling so anxious and unsettled about the violence and depravity that was being described and seemed to just keep getting worse, I took the decision to stop reading. It wasn’t worth it.
