Now on Netflix as The Call to Courage

Every time we are introduced to someone new, try to be creative, or start a difficult conversation, we take a risk. We feel uncertain and exposed. We feel vulnerable. Most of us try to fight those feelings - we strive to appear perfect.

In a powerful new vision Dr Brené Brown challenges everything we think we know about vulnerability, and dispels the widely accepted myth that it's a weakness. She argues that, in truth, vulnerability is strength and when we shut ourselves off from vulnerability - fromrevealing our true selves - we distance ourselves from the experiences that bring purpose and meaning to our lives.

Daring Greatly is the culmination of 12 years of groundbreaking social research, across every area of our lives including home, relationships, work, and parenting. It is an invitation to be courageous; to show up and let ourselves be seen, even when there are no guarantees.

This is vulnerability. This is daring greatly.

A bit too similar to the authors earlier books

I normally love Brene's work but I just couldn't stick this one out. I really enjoy that she narrates her own work which is why I gave 5 stars for performance, but it felt like I was just listening to one of her earlier books as they all have the same message. A real shame as I really enjoyed her other books.

Would no doubt be enjoyed by someone who is new to the authors work.

Finally understand shame!

I loved this book. I've just finished listening to it and I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of my hard copy version, which I intend to use as a reference.

I've learned so much about shame, the impact it has had on my life and best of all, I've learned so much about shame resilience. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

Dude.

My friend handed me this book 3 years ago. I avoided it. It didn’t feel right. Maybe I was right about that, and although I’m grateful for having read it now, I can see why she handed it to me then. Just read it, dude.

Excellent

This book helped me let go of my preconceived ideas of how my life should be, stop trying to control every aspect of it and go all in on what I have instead of sitting on the fence emotionally, never choosing a particular path. Highly recommend, particularly if you're at a juncture in your life and have a/some big decisions to make.

Life changing

It took to full two listenings of this audible book to really digest entirely; there is so much to absorb and comprehend. Brene’s narration is natural and very easy to listen to. I will strive to dare greatly from now on!

Amazing!!!!!

I loved this book so much. I found myself nodding and agreeing with many parts. I saw myself all throughout the book. It has taught me heaps and I will keep coming back to this book as a reference. I choose to dare greatly and be vulnerable. I want this in my life so I can role model it for my children.
Brené speaks so proficiently and makes it so relatable with all her examples and real life stories. Thank you for all your years of study, research and for writing this book!

I used to believe the myths...

This book has really broken the myths for me. Vulnerability is not my long suit, nor did I think I even “did” vulnerability. Your research seems solid and your words made sense Brene Brown. I will use this in my life now.
