Den danske forfatter Jørgen Liljensøe blev født i 1943 på Nørrebro i København. Han debuterede som forfatter i 1977 og har siden da udgivet et væld af både voksen-, børne- og ungdomsbøger blandt andet inden for genrerne roman, fagbog samt genfortælling af sagn og eventyr. Jørgen Liljensøe står desuden bag en lang række børnebøger om dyr, som er yderst velegnede til undervisning.
