My son and I listened to this on a long car trip and we were both enthralled! It's DAHL after all, so we had high expectations but it blew us away. The reader puts on all the voices and reads with the right amount of emotion. The 2 1/2 trip felt like 5mins!

Amazing family listening
Can’t recommend this enough. Peter Serafinowicz’s narration is perfect for this beautiful story. I was instantly transported back to when I read the book as a child but this time brought my young song along to share in the magic. We have revisited Danny, his Dad and that little caravan many times now and we adored each visit as if it were to treasured family friends.

very well read, a great story. The only downfall is some of the English terms used in the book are irrelevant today so my children asked me what they were. Otherwise spend many happy car journeys listening to the story with my children, and discussing how I grew up in the English countryside as a boy....
