Publisher's Summary

There’s a stranger in your home....

After her stepmother’s death, Caro returns to her childhood home in Derbyshire. Although she hadn’t seen Elizabeth in years, the remote farmhouse offers refuge from a bad relationship and a chance to start again.

But going through Elizabeth’s belongings unearths memories Caro would rather stay buried. In particular, a story her stepmother would tell her, about two little girls who do something terrible. Caro never understood why Elizabeth taunted her with this awful fairy tale.

As heavy snow traps Caro in the village, where her neighbours stare and whisper, Caro is forced to question why Elizabeth hated her so much and what she was hiding. But does she really want to uncover the truth?

A haunting and twisty story about the lies we tell those closest to us, perfect for fans of Ruth Ware and Cass Green.

Not bad

It was awesome up until a couple of chapters from the end where it all went a bit weird and unbelievable. Excellent narration though!

Really Good!

Beautifully written, chilling, and a fantastic performance. This one is definitely worth a credit, and I listen to a LOT of books on Audible.

A Great Read.

I got into this book from the beginning, and was sorry when I'd finished it. I liked her style of writing and will look for other book by her.

Fabulous- a twisty, believable, at times sad, at times moving, at times shocking.....story. Well written. Brilliantly narrated/performed.

Read!

Ohhhhhh, very clever, Sophie! I could visualise the art work and imagine this would make an amazing, heavily illustrated door stop of a book. 😍 My first recommendation Superb!

Wow! Amazing A must listen but not a ghost story

Wow what a great story, very well written, and how all came together to the huge climax, poor Caro. it was almost as if the ending was written first and the story just naturalłly flowed for the author. The narrator was by far the best narrator I have listened to, she helped give the story it's feeling and soul.
