Who ever wrote this is really not a writer

What disappointed you about Cryptocurrency: 4 Books in 1: Cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, Blockchain & Ethereum for Beginners?

First note all the reviews are dated and took place over 3 days - I think audible needs to verify purchases because these must be from the author or his friends. My bet is the writer first language is not English....or maybe second generation most likely Asian from the syntax. Used industry terms without explaining their meaning. The narrator actually screws up repeats himself and huffs and puffs and starts over- and no one bothered to edit it out. Who ever did this wanted to make a quick buck. The first book was a joke. The second one a little better. But really dude - who ever wrote this could have used an editor and writing coach. Amazing this got published. I think I will break out the recorder and do a couple books about things I know about. Never really explains how the distributed network of block chain works. Who enlists what computers make up the distributed network - what is the validation process of each new block and how are they vetted and protected. For someone who knows a little about Tech it creates more questions than it answers. From and investors perspective the writer is very young. His advice to investors is a joke. I think point 8 was "BE Passionate about investing in Bit Coin" - RULE 10 have fun..... and real investors know that the.#1 rule is - DO NOT BECOME PASSIONATE!!!! - you do not let emotions such as passion over rule objective planning and stop loss rules. Finally the whole premise is flawed - Bit Coins are not a real currency (since what you can buy with them is very limited) at this point they are a speculative investment on the future of currencies. I would say a play on the chaos theory around the future of virtual currencies and regulation. Outcome = Regulation will always win - not because it would protect anyone in this case ( if block chain really cannot be hacked ) but regulation is how governments tax, control and make money. Of course they will tell you it is necessary to stop drug dealing and terrorism.

How could the performance have been better?

Try getting an editor. Even the voice over artist must have told him it sucked in parts. The reason no writer is credited is am sure he also knows it was weak.

A fountain of misinformation and opinions

I was looking for a factual and informative source of information about Bitcoin, Blockchain, and Cryptocurrency in general, but this is not it. I am aware that this is a new frontier in currency and technology, but this is bad. Before I say anything else, I know there is a narrator listed, but it REALLY sounds like a computer is reading this. It is hard to give it a lot of focused attention because the narration sounds so mechanical.

As for the content... Full of opinion based speculation, made-up statistics, and palm-reader class advice, this book as let me down. Giving advice like "To be safe, always be sure of yourself before taking action" (paraphrased, not an actual quote) is like reading a fortune cookie. Oh boy, something good will happen when the sun is shining! More telling is that the author's tone regarding cryptocurrency is similar to Mama Boucher in the The Waterboy. I kept waiting for him to tell me "Bitcoin is the Devil!" When he says that cryptocurrency isn't like actual money that you can spend, I had to stop. Also saying that businesses that accept Bitcoin are only accepting it to get you to buy more products with actual money. SMH. SMH.

Knowing a colleague who purchased a brand-new SUV with Bitcoin, makes me feel it's pretty real. If you want to know about cryptocurrency, keep moving on to another source.

Full of errors and redundancies

Narrator may have been a lil drunk at times? There was a point where he messed up and they forgot to edit it out. Verbatim repeated information various times making it difficult to follow.

Mediocre production

This is the most hastily assembled book I have every read... it's obviously biased towards ethereum and still managed to contradict itself.

Poorly Written and Shallow

You know a book is poorly-written when a professional narrator struggles to simply read what’s written because they’ve never had to string together words in such awkward, frequently meaningless ways. I can understand the reason for the lackluster performance. I wish I had the hard copy so I could copy some of the “gems” in this book, like “if you follow your gut, make sure you are right first.”

It strikes me as a work that was created by an offshore company as marketing material to pass out at trade shows and initial prospect meetings. It is simply awful and teaches nothing of value.

Poor delivery, content

The delivery was very deadpan. Didnt sound like they were trying to impart knowledge at all. A bit negative on bitcoin as well. There must be better books on the subject

Great guide

The book is not the only intro to cryptos, but a great Guide through all the questions you’ve had about it. All the questions of mine been answered: who, what, when, where! And the bonus is that I had the luxury to talk to the author himself.

Interesting and informative book

If you want to understand and learn everything about cryptocurrency, This book had helped to invest more thoughtfully, and gain more than what I have contributed. I can state that this book is exceptionally useful.

Buy a proper book on the subject instead.

Imagine you had a small pamphlet of information on a really hot topic and somebody challenged you to turn it into a book (or even 4 books) because there seemed to be a great demand for this kind information. You'd write a book like this. You'd make assumptions, write meaningless generalisations, you'd re-phrase the meaningless generalisations and assumptions and then you might occasionally sprinkle in a tiny piece of information, add another sweeping generalisation, re-phrase that and then summarise and repeat. Endlessly. This book is an exercise in waffle. If it was edited (which I doubt), it was the worst editing job in history. I want my money back. Halfway through, I actually felt angry about how I was being patronised and how my time was being wasted and cut my losses. Research the author's other work. It's a formula that he's used in many other hot topic areas. This book is 95% empty. Avoid.

Not for beginners, or anyone.

4 books in 1 totalling less than 6 hours, four pamphlets maybe! Very repetitive, which would not be too bad if the information was useful to beginners, as advertised, it's not. The author assumes the reader knows a lot about cryptocurrency already. Includes ad for paid course for further information and makes some questionable claims on cryptocurrency further performance. Several times it is stated that you should buy at the lowest price and sell at the highest, it does not take a genius to know that's what you should do, it's how you do that is what everyone wants to know. Total waste of time and money in my opinion. Find another beginners guide.

Well researched

It's extremely well researched and written in a way most anyone can understand. Hard to believe we won't all be using some form of digital currency on a blockchain system in the near future - opportunities abound!

Fact or fantasy?

Very well written and researched book. The author found a good balance between monetary concepts and the technical aspects of the new currency. I started by knowing very little about Blockchain and can claim that I am better informed.

Good book

I only started hearing about Bitcoins last year. Your book has opened up my eyes to understanding what the whole concept is about. Thanks so much for making it simple enough that even I could understand!! Highly Recommended!!
