Publisher's Summary

With the paparazzi hot on her heels, Mandy Bettencourt is desperate for somewhere to hide, and her best friend has just the place.

It’s perfect. No Internet. No phone. A deep bathtub she’s busy soaking in when he shows up.

Her best friend’s brother, Dante Crowne. Rich as a cardinal sin and handsome enough to piss off the devil. A man with a brooding, no-nonsense attitude and a reputation for unforgettable bedroom games.

Mandy got an early taste of them in high school - for seven minutes in a closet. She can tell you, the rumors are all true.

Dante knows he’s got a reputation for a lot of things, including a love of solitude.

But there’s a beautiful socialite in his bathtub, and the memory of those seven minutes isn’t inspiring him to kick her out.

So he offers her a deal.

If she wants to stay, she has to work.

If she makes a mistake, she’s corrected with pink hand marks on her backside.

That’s the deal.

Beg for it or leave it.

He’s surprised when she agrees, and he’s even more surprised when she likes the punishment.

The most shocking thing, though, is how much he’s starting to like her.

They can’t stay in paradise forever.

Los Angeles awaits.

But an old nemesis sets his sights on tearing them apart, and Dante may be the one left begging.

Crowne Rules is a complete standalone. You don’t have to listen to any of the Crowne Brothers books to pick this up, but you might want to once you’re done with Dante.

Wait was worth it

I wasn’t enamoured by the female narrator but I enjoyed the book Otherwise. I liked the fact there wasn’t too much dithering by either party once they decided they were meant for each other. It was past history that interfered.

Smart and sexy with an emotional punch.

I loved this story. I think it’s my favorite of all the Crowne Series. Emma Wilder was excellent as we’ve come to expect. Her male voice is so good but she does a great job here of bringing the character of Mandy. She shows Mandy’s vulnerability and her quest to become a strong empowered woman with conviction. I’ve been a fan of Christian Fox for a while and this may be his best performance (that i have heard). He brings lays bare all the emotions if Dante in such a powerful way. As a listener I felt for him and for all that he went through with his first relationship with an older woman at such a young age. I loved the journey his character took to reach the point where he realized he was worthy not only of loving Mandy but of being loved by her. The sexual chemistry between the characters was off the charts. And as steamy as they were they never felt overdone and definitely served a purpose in the development of the characters. I highly recommend this book!

MY SOUL SUCKS HER FRICTION-FILLED SEXY STORIES UP

Dante and Mandy’s relationship is like oil and water.. they just don’t mix - but, when they’re forced to spend the night under the same borrowed Cambria roof, the heated looks, the barbed banter, the venomous vibes and the sexual friction quickly turns to flames when a dirty deal is struck. Mandy is running away from her own bad situation and headline gossip.. so, when she gets a small taste of what Dante is offering it’s the perfect solution. Dante is a bossy, crude, layered, dirty dirty talking Dom and he awakens a side Mandy never knew she had.. a submissive side. And with sex-fuelled tension leading their steps, Dante slowly drops his preconceived views, puts his past behind him and sees what’s in front of him.. and Mandy blossoms and finds herself too. With dual POV very entertaining chapters, this is a rewarding love story.. but wow it was hhhot. Emma and Christian were brilliant of course at bringing the story to life and were the perfect fit for Dante and Mandy’s personalities and emotional states. The Epilogue was very sweet too. WORTH A CREDIT? Definitely.

Female narrator ruined it

Female narrator ruined it. Her trembling, nasal voice was horrible. The story also had huge gaps in it. I loved the book before this one, but this one was a fail.

Loved the first two books

I just didn’t care for the way Dante called Mandi his slut, whore, etc. and had her calling herself that. I get that the intent was to be empowering but it didn’t land.

Breathe

It’s a great story to follow the Crown brothers and their love stories. I love how Mandy conquers fears and falls into love. I didn’t enjoy the reader. She was very breath-y. You could tell she was trying to sound sexy but some of the time she spoke as almost a whisper.

Oh so good on every level! 5 Huge Stars!

If I thought I had enjoyed the previous Crowne books of the series, this one might have just made me fall for the entire world, characters and stories that much harder. CD Reiss is such as force! Her writing is precise, emotional yet viscerally truthful. She manages to convey feelings and thoughts beyond just a story with a conflict... She weaves in her love for Los Angeles, her humanity and her sense of humor in a way that makes us, the listener, feel like we are part of the story. I am a gust of air within a scene and it's quite powerful. The casting was really spot on! Having Christian Fox be Dante Crowne was like if 2020 finally gave us something to cheer for. The man has such a way with witty , domineering and cocky banter... It's pure gold! Emma Wilder gives one of her best performances IMO. She took a character with flaws and insecurities and she managed to make Mandy more than just an L.A. socialite or a Cali cliché. I think the narration elevated the character's substance by giving her strength and the journey of accepting who she was, is enough. I really loved this story and it's definitely worth the credit! BRAVO!!!

Dante did not disappoint!

CD Reiss had nailed it yet again! I had been waiting for this installation after Logan's story and it did not disappoint. Dante was more demanding than the prior Crowne brother's which made him deliciously perfect. I really enjoyed Mandy's story and watching her move on from the heartbreak that her prior affair had left her in. Dante's baggage was quickly wrapped up. I think the only thing I missed was momma Crowne's tingle that she gets in the prior two books. Too bad there isnt more Crowne story coming after this one, however a book about these 3 couples on a family vacation together would be fun to read. ;)

Dante may be my favorite Crowne brother...maybe.

What a wonderful story and series. Dante, the loner of the Crowne siblings, is more complicated, layered, and demanding of himself than his brothers. Not saying they are one-dimensional--because they aren't. But Dante had his own set of issues that most of his family wasn't aware of. The epitome of control, or was it all an illusion he felt he needed to exhibit? I'm still wondering this. Mandy, having been through a bad and public breakup, heads off to her best friend Logan Crowne's family retreat. Unbeknownst to her, the aforementioned brooding brother, Dante is also there. After discovering each other, they amicably agree to peacefully coexist and steer clear of each other. That last task turns out to be much more difficult than either of them expected. Having grown up in the same social and family circles, Mandy and Dante are familiar with each other, but it's more of a superficial acquaintance. As they slowly get to know one another, they both realize that they're definitely attracted to each other, but it's probably best they don't act on that attraction. Until they don't. Hey, it's a love story, so eventually there is some getting together. Dante has serious control issues, and Mandy doesn't have much control at all. Seemingly a perfect match, but not an easy one. Both learn so much about themselves as their attraction grows and veers into more than just physical. I loved how headstrong Mandy wasn't quite what Dante was expecting, but he kinda liked it. And Mandy wasn't crazy about Dante's domineering personality, but soon discovers it's what she needs. This story was all kinds of hot, and complicated, and I went through a range of emotions. Christine Reiss knows her characters, and I love how she carefully plots every little detail--and she does--where the slightest thing means more than you think it does. Very cerebral, and I love her for it. Christian Fox and Emma Wilder were great narrators, and I think Christian was perfect portraying Dante's beautifully broken self.

OMG full on book

OMG this is a full on book that I had to fan myself while listening. Dante is a Dom and starts a fill on relationship but doesn’t want to commit but they basically are but won’t admit it. I’m not a total fan of pets names he called Mandy but I end a fantastic book and the narration was amazing
