Publisher's Summary

He is an expert with the latest technology...a madman with the mind of a genius and the heart of a killer. He quietly stalks his prey. Then he haunts the police with cryptic riddles about the crimes he is about to commit - always solved moments too late to save the victims' lives.

Police lieutenant Eve Dallas found the first victim butchered in his own home. The second lost his life in a vacant luxury apartment. The two men had little in common. Both suffered unspeakable torture before their deaths. And both had ties to an ugly secret of 10 years past - a secret shared by none other than Eve's new husband, Roarke.

Crack another case with Eve Dallas.

I am not keen on the narrator.

2022 AUDIBLE REVIEW
I have also started buying the audible books and have listened to the audio book version as well.
Though I am not keen on the narrator, I was able to enjoy the actual story. The narrator has better inflection and seems to be improving with separating the characters voices.
BOOK REVIEW
Original review for paperback version is missing
Greatly entertaining read once again, with the introduction of our wonderfully colourful EDD man, McNab.
Having read all the books and going back to replace missing reviews, I know how important his character will be going forward.
This time the murders committed are hitting close to home and making Summerset look the guilty party.
Due to connections with Roarke and Summersets past, we have Roarke taking Eve home to Dublin.
Eve and Roarke are getting better at balancing their lives and Eve makes the statement to her boss that Roarke comes before the job.
We get a nice personally emotional moment between them too.
Summerset and Eve also end this book on a totally different playing field due to Eve being herself.
Was terribly sad about Marlena.
Without giving anything away, there is a totally unhinged religious nutcase whom I hope never sees daylight again.
My only complaint is; At the end when Summerset had been released on bail, my first thought was the killer would go after him at home. Neither Roark nor Eve thought of that, probably due to thinking the house is a fortress.
On to the next book.
