One morning she returns home and finds Warren waiting for her. When she looks down from his unshaven face, she recognises the piece of paper lying on the coffee table - a letter from her lover Danny that she'd hidden inside a book. Then she sees the gun in her husband's hand.
It's going to be a long day - for the Fields family, for Danny, for the police - because this is not the only secret in town.
A bit of a slow start, but greg Iles trademark well thought out characters deliver an incredibly gripping story.

As a huge fan of Greg Iles, I had very high expectations for this audiobook. Regrettably, I was disappointed since it was slow to start and the characters were not believable. I'm not saying it was poor, but certainly not up to the standard expected of a writer of this standing.

A wife has been having an affair only to discover she is pregnant after they break up. Her husband is acting very strangely, and she is frightened he has found her out. Sure enough he does, but holds her and the kids hostage until she tells him who her affair was with.
