Publisher's Summary

#1 NEW YORK TIMES AND USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR

“Take my word for it, James Reece is one rowdy motherf***er. Get ready!”—Chris Pratt, all around great guy and star of The Terminal List, coming to Amazon Prime

A Navy SEAL has nothing left to live for and everything to kill for after he discovers that the American government is behind the deaths of his team in this ripped-from-the-headlines political thriller that is “so powerful, so pulse-pounding, so well-written—rarely do you read a debut novel this damn good” (Brad Thor, #1 New York Times bestselling author).

On his last combat deployment, Lieutenant Commander James Reece’s entire team was killed in a catastrophic ambush. But when those dearest to him are murdered on the day of his homecoming, Reece discovers that this was not an act of war by a foreign enemy but a conspiracy that runs to the highest levels of government.

Now, with no family and free from the military’s command structure, Reece applies the lessons that he’s learned in over a decade of constant warfare toward avenging the deaths of his family and teammates. With breathless pacing and relentless suspense, Reece ruthlessly targets his enemies in the upper echelons of power without regard for the laws of combat or the rule of law.

“Told with a deft hand and a keen eye for detail, The Terminal List…is explosive and riveting” (Kevin Maurer, coauthor of No East Day) and is perfect for fans of Vince Flynn, Brad Thor, Stephen Hunter, and Nelson DeMille.

"Double the trouble, twice the action, and quadruple the enjoyment. Careful while reading this one, it could leave a mark." (Steve Berry, New York Times best-selling author of The Last Order)

Decent action/thriller

Generally a good action/thriller story if not a little predictable. Prepare yourself for the nauseating political agenda of the author though.

Great thriller

After hearing about the book on the JRE, I had to give it a go, and I was not displeased at all, would like to see it turned into a movie

Very GungHo and just a bit implausible

I found the storyline just a bit far-fetched - yes it is a thriller fiction, but never-the-less I just could not come to accept parts of the plot as plausible. The character was all a bit too super-hero gung-ho. I kept thinking it was John Wayne only with more swagger.

I get that author Jack Carr is a former Navy Seal and knows his stuff, but like a lot of experts he tends to like sharing his knowledge and gets bogged down in too much detail that doesn't add to the storyline. I suspect if the reader is a former Seal... or former military they might appreciate knowing the model number and specs of a weapon down to the xth layer. I was half expecting to be given serial numbers. If it was toned down, it would not diminish the plot-line but move things along.

Having given the negative, the plot does still move along and the narration is professional, so I had no problem sticking with it to the end, but it didn't leave me wanting more.

If you like high levels of details about military weapons and have a well developed disrespect for authority figures, this might be for you.
