Publisher's Summary

A malicious letter

A tragic death

A village filled with suspects

Nothing ever happens in the sleepy village of Lymstock.

Until letters accusing the villagers of unspeakable acts start to appear.

They try to dismiss them as a cruel hoax, but then one of the recipients is found dead. The letter next to her body reads simply, ‘I can’t go on’.

As fear spreads among the villagers, Jane Marple must uncover who is writing these letters – before anyone else is hurt.

Never underestimate Miss Marple

Critic Reviews

‘Miss Marple is one of the most subversive, the most original, most distinctive characters in fiction. Often underestimated and overlooked, she always triumphs in the end.’ Kate Mosse

‘Beyond all doubt the puzzle in The Moving Finger is fit for experts.’ The Times

Needed more Marple

I really liked the story overall but I’m not sure why it’s classed as a Marple story if she’s only kinda there for the last 20%

A charming little murder mystery

An Agatha Christie story I hadn’t been aware of before. Richard E Grant brings all the characters to life with fantastic voices - it’s a really fun listen.

Cracking read by Grant

Richard E Grant has a naturally expressive - some might say sarcastic - tone that lends itself well to the slightly cynical main character in this book. He does all the other voices well too, full of expression.

Best narrator ever!

Loved, loved, loved this book. Far exceeded my hopes as I really enjoyed the Tele-movie - but the book is SO much better! Richard E Grant’s narration is superb. The book is written in the first person from Jerry’s perspective and Richard was thoroughly convincing. I will listen this more than once.

.

Richard E Grant did a fantastic job narrating this book. One of my favourite of Christie's novels, he definitely did it justice.

Disappointing

It’s disappointing because I had hoped miss marple would be with Richard E Grant but it was just Richard. I know the story so well that it was flat.

Richard E. and Agatha

Is there a better combination? Agatha Christie, Miss Marple and Richard E Grant?
Well crafted characters, intriguing plot and brilliant characterisations.
A wonderful way to begin my winter holiday.
