Publisher's Summary

Mickey Haller gets the text, "Call me ASAP - 187," and the California penal code for murder immediately gets his attention. Murder cases have the highest stakes and the biggest paydays, and they always mean Haller has to be at the top of his game.

When Mickey learns that the victim was his own former client, a prostitute he thought he had rescued and put on the straight and narrow path, he knows he is on the hook for this one. He soon finds out that she was back in LA and back in the life. Far from saving her, Mickey may have been the one who put her in danger.

Haunted by the ghosts of his past, Mickey must work tirelessly and bring all his skill to bear on a case that could mean his ultimate redemption or proof of his ultimate guilt.

Gripping

What made the experience of listening to The Gods of Guilt the most enjoyable?

I never once wanted to stop listening to it and that in my opionion is the best recommendation that I could give to the author and the the narrator.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Of course Mickey Haller as he is the main character and the story is seen through his perspective.

What about Peter Giles’s performance did you like?

That he kept me engaged the whole time that I did not want to stop listening is a testament to his reading of the book.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Well that would be a spoiler wouldn't it but the two death scenes were particular shocking and moving.

Fascinating Guide to (some) US Legal Process

Connolly at his best. Great characterisation, a likeable anti-hero, excellent story, good balance of explanations. Fantastic narrator.

So good

I don't know how Michael Connelly keeps on one upping himself but every installment of the Lincoln Lawyer is better than the last. The Gods of Guilt I felt took it even further and like how Mickey Haller describes how a lawyer presents their case is akin to a symphony. How everything is brought to a Crescendo, this book is brought to a thrilling end. I don't know if there is a way to one up this book but if anyone can manage it would be Michael Connelly.

Great book and great Series

Loved the way that the plot unfolds and exposes itself.
Listened to all the Bosch books, so I started on the Lincon Lawyer series, and they haven't disappointed.
Great narrator who really compliments the book.
Please keep up the good work. 👍👍

Not his best

I love Michael Connelly but found this one hard to get into. Obvious whodunnit and then it kind of plodded along without much suspense.

Good Story, horrible voicing

I loved the story but it was read so slowly I think I could have read it faster myself. I usually love the Lincon Lawyer series and I still do - just not this performance.
