Publisher's Summary

Penguin presents the unabridged, downloadable audiobook edition of The Doll's House, the third installment of the Detective Inspector Helen Grace series by M. J. Arlidge, read by Elizabeth Bower and Scott Joseph.

A woman wakes. Immediately she knows she's not in the bed in which she slept. It's just the beginning of her nightmare.

Across town a child discovers a woman's body buried beneath the beach. Then another victim is found. Neither friends nor family had even reported either woman missing. How could their killer be getting away with murder?

It's chilling evidence that Detective Inspector Helen Grace is hunting a monster who's not just twisted but clever and careful. And as Helen struggles to understand the killer's motivation, she realizes that time might be running out for someone still alive....

Compelling central character

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

The first 2 books had only one narrator, Elizabeth Bower, so it's distracting to say the least to have another narrator join series and it doesn't really add anything to the enjoyment of the series.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

The story line is ok and I'm interested in the development of Helen Grace but not sure I'll be going back for book 4.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It's Ok for running to, but not one that I can't stop listening too.

Well worth the read.

PI am enjoying the Helen Grace murder books and am reading in order for a change. However, the bok does lend itself for 2 voices due to the construction but I do not like it at all which I have rated the performance so low. But a good read all the same.

Too predictable and removed from reality

I understand that some poetic licence has to be allowed, but this story just wouldn't cut it in real life. It portrays a totally dysfunctional and inept police force (can't perform a basic stakeout for goodness sake), a officer who's insubordination in real life would have seen her booted off the force a long time ago. The senior officer's behavior is just not believable,

Those that read the story did excellent work.
