Twists and turns
I love all three of the Trilogy. In this last one the surprises keep coming and just when I have figured it out. All the characters are believable and the narrator so good I could listen forever. If only there were a series following Finn and his life. Immense gratitude to Peter May and Peter Forbes that made these three books so thoroughly enjoyable.

Easy Listening
I didn't find this as spell binding as some of his other books. I found my mind kept wandering and I could come back to the story and I hadn't missed anything.

Your in Scotland
This story was well thought out and plausible, as ever, listening to this in audible with the accent, makes you feel like your at the bar eavesdropping on a conversation, the book did feel like a conclusion. I liked it

So much more than a crime novel
This is a beautiful story of landscape, loss, and memory. There is murder and mayhem in there, and a detective who you’d love to have on your side, but it’s so much more than a crime story. Evocatively told, the landscape of Lewis and the history of the island is as important to the plot as the events narrated. A compelling end to the Lewis trilogy. I can only hope there are more Fin Macleod books.
The narrator is brilliant. The accents are all as they should be, the Gaelic is lilting and musical, and he voices the emotion and humour with equal skill.
