Publisher's Summary

Determined to live a dark life in the company of the assassin who freed her from bondage, Sarai sets out on her own to settle a score with an evil sadist. Unskilled and untrained in the art of killing, the events that unfold leave her hanging precariously on the edge of death when nothing goes as planned.

Sarai's reckless choices send her on a path she knows she can never turn back from and so she presents Victor with an ultimatum: Help her become more like him and give her a fighting chance, or she'll do it alone no matter the consequences. Knowing that Sarai cannot become what she wants to be overnight, Victor begins to train her and inevitably their complicated relationship heats up.

As Arthur Hamburg's right-hand man, Willem Stephens, closes in on his crusade to destroy Sarai, she is left with the crushing realization that she may have bitten off more than she can chew. But Sarai, taking on the new and improved role of Izabel Seyfried, still has a set of deadly skills of her own that will prove to be all she needs to secure her place beside Victor.

But there is one test that Izabel must face that has the potential to destroy everything she is working so hard to achieve. One final test that will not only make her question her decision to want this dangerous life, but will make her question everything she has come to trust about Victor Faust.

Awesome!! Superb!!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

"Hell Yes" i would recommend this to a friend. I would because the first series was awesome and reading the second series is even better.

What did you like best about this story?

i am sure a lot of people will agree with me that the story between Sarai/lzabel & Victor.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

when Izabel finally got her revenge in killing the man at the hotel room. that was awesome!! because that shows after all the things she has gone through she finally got her revenge.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I listen to the first series in a day. after listening to it knowing it will not be the end of Sarai & Victor. Of course!! this is the audiobook i was going to listen to in one sitting. And I did.

Any additional comments?

I enjoy this series even more. And it was worth the money!!!

Loved it!

This is exactly what I look for in an audiobook. If you're looking for action, gore and intense romance I highly recommend this book. This is definitely not for the faint of hearted though so if you can't handle blood and gore stay clear from this. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Izabel the killer

Enjoyed the story, not quiet as good as the killing Sarai, but still a good listen. If you like abit of blood, pain, murder, torture mixed with a bit of sex this book is the one to listen too. cheers

Fast paced story

This story is fast paced and action packed. The words are succinct and effective in the way they convey emotions and atmospheres, which is fitting for this genre. The twist near the end took me by surprise but it made a lot of sense once it was revealed and explained.

When I finished the first book I had found Victor and Sarai likeable enough, but it's this book that has made me care about them. Not just them but Fredrik too... Yeah definitely Fredrik too! What an intriguing personality that one is. I will be reading more books from this series cause I'm not ready to part with these characters yet.

I'm giving this book 4 stars instead of 5 because Sarai/Izabel's training was mostly told not shown. Except for the little bit of Krav Maga that she underwent. And I would have liked a bit more interactions between Victor and Sarai/Izabel. But I'm probably just nitpicking here.

As for the narration, Kate Reinders does a wonderful job as both Sarai/Izabel and Victor, but I found Stephen Bel Davis' narration very stiff and inappropriate at times, almost like he's reading from a textbook. He sounds too old for Victor's 37 years and the way he expresses emotions usually feels quite off the mark. While Kate Reinders gives Victor a voice that sounds stoic and manly, Stephen Bel Davis makes him sound like an old man making exclamations where there should be emotions and wooden in other places.
