Undue Influence of the Upper Classes

Would you consider the audio edition of Maigret's First Case to be better than the print version?

I don't know I haven't read the print version. N/AGareth Armstrong's tone, modulation and pace were good. His change of voice for each character wasn't too exaggerated. Overall the feeling of patience and wisdom of a green/rookie detective permeated the telling.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Maigret's First Case?

The realisation that his police force was impure. ... making the acquaintance of Dada, the flutist, the bawdy housemaid.

Which character – as performed by Gareth Armstrong – was your favourite?

Dada, as performed by Gareth Armstrong was one of my favourite characters.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Maigret's philosophy comes through as ... You have to be able to get to know the people and their lives and assess their character to enable you to solve the crime.
