Kidnapped, beaten, crashed, shot, drugged

How much more can Rowly's body and those of his friends take. Meanwhile his poor Mum is enjoying herself! Rowly and friends stay in Australia this time. Some lovely cameos of kids at Tudor House, dtaff of Smith's Weekly and the scribe of Eternity. Impotence against the rising tide of fascism finds the establishment more concerned with communism than Hitler. Once again Gentill paints a complex picture of Sydney between the wars with bands of starving men looking for work, Italian immigrants, motor racing, Bookies, razor gangs, abortionists, corrupt cops, the occult and tea dances setting the scene
