Publisher's Summary

International best-selling author Jeremy Robinson has been compared to both Matthew Reilly and Stephen King. In Forbidden Island, he brings the characters and plotting of the fastest paced thrillers together with mind-bending imaginative horrors.

Seeking to contact humanity's lost tribe....

On the precipice of a cliff, contemplating suicide, dishonorably discharged US Army Ranger Rowan Baer is invited to provide security to a research team visiting the most dangerous island in the world - North Sentinel Island in the Sea of Bengal. Seeking redemption, he accepts.

Living among Amazon rainforest tribes, eccentric Israeli anthropologist Talia Mayer is recruited to study the island's elusive inhabitants - the Sentinelese - who have resided on the tropical island since the dawn of mankind. Seeing the chance of a lifetime, she joins the team.

On the run from his past, Palestinian linguist Mahdi Barakat is given little choice: join the expedition and make contact with the Sentinelese, or be left to face the men tracking him down. Afraid for his life, he finds safe harbor halfway around the world.

As part of an expedition funded by the Indian government and supported by a local resort millionaire, the team struggles to make contact with the Sentinelese, a tribal people renowned for their violence, strange behavior, and mysterious ways. But when the expedition's yacht strikes a reef, and sinks, the team finds themselves stranded on an island few people have ever set foot on and survived, an island that they quickly discover is home to far more than primitive tribal people.

...They uncover the very source of evil.

    Story
    "Not the best from Mr.Robinson"

Having listened to several of Mr. Robinson's offerings, this one looked interesting. Upon conclusion and review, it is not nearly as good as some of these others IMHO.

Conceptually it works, but the devil is always in the details, and there is the challenge. Gratuitous references, random violence that does not move the story forward, and at times overly dramatic reading all combine to make this a difficult listen. The story does pose some interesting concepts, to be fair, but they are not clearly made and take far too long to reveal.

Can't recommend this one, unfortunately. I wanted to.

    "A solid thriller"

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

While not my favorite book by this author, it was still a solid thriller. I think it just didn't have the same "feel" as the others I've read or listened to. It just didn't feel like it had the same amount of historical research as the others. I could be wrong, but that's how it left me feeling. Anyway, I still enjoyed it and thought it was well narrated. If you like this duo's other works, you will definitely enjoy this one too.

"What an original idea and concept! "

Loved, love, loved this book. It kept me guessing, disturbed me, shocked at times and made me not want to put it down. The narrator was incredible and the overall story was just so different and intriguing. I would love to see a continuation of the same 3 main characters maybe finding other supernatural places or beings and helping protect them. Will definitely keep an eye out for a sequel or other books by the author.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

    "Fast-Paced and Thrilling"

Forbidden Island was an exciting fast-paced listen. I enjoyed the mystique of the story with the Sentinelese in the rainforest. I loved the characters of Ranger Rowan and Sasha as well as the others.

This is I think the second audiobook I've listened to by Jeremy Robinson and I find his writing fresh and somewhat edge of your seat. Action-packed. I think the narration by Jeffrey Kafer was top-notch. He has a sort of mysterious voice with excellent inflections. It was his performance that made this book such a good listen.

I received this audiobook for free through Audiobook Boom for my unbiased review.

Note: This is the second review I've written on this title. There's a glitch that needs to be fixed with Audible. Not the first time this has happened to me.

    "good book"

I received this book free of charge for an honest review.. still robinson but not what im used to from him. solid story and narration but just didnt get the vibe as from others. probably due to the lack of sciencey stuff. characters were decent and acceptable for who they were supposed to be. stoner island idea was good though.

    "Forbidden Island"

Not the author's best effort. Still a decent story but the author could have spent more time making the story more cohesive. Enjoyed Jeffery's performance. I received this audiobook for free through Audiobook Boom for my unbiased review.

    "Confusing Island"

This book seemed like a good premise, but it didn't seem to make a lot of sense. This is not the author's best effort.
The characters are diverse and seem to be randomly assembled.
The story line gets lost in a confusing mix of back story, character history and random issues, and it goes on way too long.
The narration is good on the positive side.

    "A very refreshing read"

A refreshing take on the "Forbidden Lands". Plenty of action interspersed with human interaction. Well written and edited. A really well told tale with an unexpected twist to the tale.
Narration is excellent - rich tones, smooth and clear.
I listened to this book over the course of 3 evenings - very easy listening. I do recommend this book.

    "Loved it!"

A forbidden island, a race of aboriginals, psychedelic smoke and a very large secret. Don't go to the island where everyone dies or do they. I received this audio book for free at my request and voluntarily reviewed.

    "A hidden gem"

A whirlwind of a book with intense descriptions and exciting encounters - i took one star off as i found it a little repetitive in parts but make no mistake this is a great read!

The narrator was great and i'm familiar with his work on the Jon Reznick series - Kafer has the ability to bring characters to life.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
