Publisher's Summary

The fourth thriller in the number one best-selling crime series from the award-winning Stuart MacBride. Panic grips the Granite City as DS Logan McRae heads up a manhunt for 'The Flesher' - one of the UK's most notorious serial killers.

The case was closed. Until the killer walked free....

When an offshore container turns up at Aberdeen Harbour full of human meat, it kicks off the largest manhunt in the Granite City's history.

Twenty years ago 'The Flesher' was butchering people all over the UK - turning victims into oven-ready joints - until Grampian's finest put him away. But 11 years later he was out on appeal. Now he's missing, and people are dying again.

When members of the original investigation start to disappear, Detective Sergeant Logan McRae realises the case might not be as clear cut as everyone thinks....

Twenty years of secrets and lies are being dragged into the light. And the only thing that's certain is that Aberdeen will never be the same again.

Best story yet

This story was incredible, again the characters and the plot were so well written, and the way Steve Worsley reads just brings the whole thing to life. Twists and turns I did not see coming.
Gruesome in many places, but also a good laugh at times.
I can get enough of Stuart Macbrides books.

The best Logan McRae book of them all.

Shocking in its violence but mesmerizing. Convincing red herrings abound so the reader is kept guessing to the end. No plodding procedural this; enough background stories to raise this story well above your average crime novel. Fascinating.

Very gruesome

I had to fast forward quite often as it was way too gory for me.

Excellent

Another great listen. These just keep getting better and better. Lots of twists and turns a lot of red herrings but a well put together story.

Great narration as always will miss him on the next book.

Unnecessarily gruesome.

This is a well-crafted crime thriller with lots of twists and turns as the story unfolds. My enjoyment was spoiled by the gruesome details of cannibalism which seemed far more than necessary for the story.

A bit gory ..be warned

A good story as always but as the title suggests it is very gory. I fast forwarded it in quite a few places.

Very graffic story line not for the faint hearted. But he is a good writer and the characters golden.
