Publisher's Summary

New York Times Bestseller

Do you dare step through the red door? Spencer Grant had no idea what drew him to the bar with the red door. He thought he would just sit down, have a slow beer or two, and talk to a stranger. He couldn’t know that it would lead to a narrow escape from a bungalow targeted by a SWAT team. Or that it would leave him a wanted man.

But now Spencer is on the run from mysterious and ruthless men. He is in love with a woman he knows next to nothing about. And he is hiding from a past he can’t fully remember. On his trail is a shadowy security agency that answers to no one - including the U.S. government - and a man who considers himself a compassionate Angel of Death. But worst of all, Spencer Grant is on a collision course with inner demons he thought he’d buried years ago - inner demons that could destroy him if his enemies don’t first.

Long Winded

i have read a lot of Dean Koontz's books but this one is not for me, he just waffles on with his descriptions to the point of boredom. This is the first of his books that i won't be finishing.

Waffly

Frustrated with the unnecessary waffling. I found myself saying “get on with it”, out loud, on the bus!

couldn't finish

I love Dean Koontz, have read and listened to many, many of his books and loved them. This one, however, I couldn't finish. Some parts of the book just went on and on. The narrator was not able to adjust his tone and cadence to the different characters. I love detail, I want to be able to have a true vision of what is happening. But the detail went far beyond what was necessary. So much so, that i would forget what it was he was describing. Lastly, there were many elements of this book that reminded me of "From the Corner of His Eye." So much so, that if this were written by someone else other than Koontz, I would say that it had been plagiarized.

I'm a huge fan of Koontz, but this one I couldn't finish.

Intense

I really enjoyed listening to this story! There were so many twists and turn. Conspiracy upon conspiracy, with a romance and abuse of power by multiple government agencies. And of course, two or three totally unbalanced psycho's thrown in for good measure. Get it. I think you'll really enjoy the story like I did.

Excellent plot & narration.

The storyline is excellent, with great twists, & a great presentation by the Narrator. This narrator did a great job in presnting different character voices. This led to enjoying the audio book beimg quite memorable. Highly recommended! :-)
