Why did there have to be the fake American accent?

I very rarely write a full review but I bought this book on the recommendation of other listeners . This is clearly narrated by an English narrator. Yet the fake American accent was unnecessary and made a joke of the characters. Please Alex Lake make them use an American narrator if they are going to make this seem an American work of fiction

Edge of the seat

Full of suspense and twists. Didn't want to put is down. Highly recommend this good read
