Publisher's Summary

A chilling psychological thriller for fans of Gillian Flynn, Nicci French, Sophie Hannah, S. J. Watson and Elizabeth Haynes that will haunt you long after you've finished listening....

In this dark psychological thriller, Olivia Taylor believes she has suffered the worst life can throw at her after the breakup of her marriage. Full of hope, she starts a new life with her nine-year-old daughter, Ellie, only to find the worst is yet to come.

Meeting Michael Crossman is the beginning of an unspeakable nightmare for Olivia, and her world slowly unravels. It is only through the retelling of her story that we piece together what has led her to become a mere shadow of the woman she once was.

Too convoluted with too little explanation

I just felt I was reading one depressing sub story after another. There was no real plot nor clever twists or resolutions. Disappointing as I am a fan of Kathryn Croft

Character

I found the main character extremely frustrating and self focused. The story was slow with little storyline that kept me engaged. I was waiting for something to ‘happen’ the whole book. Ending wasn’t too bad though.

Bit disappointing

Wasn’t what I’d expected. I still didn’t really know what this was about & was waiting for an answer which only came 45 minutes before the end. The ending was the twist but it seemed quite rushed. I was planning on giving only two stars but increased it because of the end & the narrator was good.
