Story
When I arrived at my uncle's house, I expected my relatives to be like me - outcast sorcerers who don't practice magic. I was right about the sorcery, but wrong about everything else. Rule two: Don't listen to the demon. My uncle chose a far deadlier power. He calls creatures of darkness into our world, binds them into service contracts, and sells them to the highest bidder. And I'm supposed to act like I don't know how illegal and dangerous it is. Rule three: Don't talk to the demon. All I had to do was keep my nose out of it.

Story
"Happily Ever After" wasn't supposed to come with a do-over option. But when my husband of 20 years packs up and heads for greener pastures, and my son heads away to college, that's exactly what my midlife becomes. A do-over. This time, though, I plan to do things differently. Age is just a number, after all, and at 40 I'm ready to carve my own path. Eager for a fresh start, I make a somewhat unorthodox decision and move to a tiny town in the Sierra foothills.

Story
Fae exist only in children’s stories, or so I thought. That was before a nightmarish creature of the Fae Realm dropped into my life. He claimed a seven-pointed mark on my skin signified my magical lineage, the bit of DNA my mother passed down. Days after I arrive in the Fae Realm, I’m thrown into a series of trials titled ‘The Devotion’. I must compete with demons, vampires, elves and more who want to claim their place at the future King’s side. I have no interest in this guy, but it doesn’t help that the King-to-be is a gorgeous, brooding fae.

I’ve finally broken free from my past, but I can’t ignore the feeling deep in my bones that says something bad is coming for me. Publisher's Summary
Welcome to Willow Creek. People are happy, crime is practically nonexistent, and life is good...unless you're Sabine Crowley. Sabine has been chosen to be the next blood bag for the vampire lord who has protected the town from otherworldly creatures for 200 years.
Sabine has big dreams for her life, and none of them include becoming a vampire's concubine. On her 18th birthday, she seeks solitude to process the cruel turn her destiny has taken. As she sits alone in Cleary Park, a sexy stranger approaches her. He's tall, mysterious, handsome, and a complete jerk. He soon reveals himself to be a vampire; Sabine is terrified of him and her strange attraction to him. She wants to get as far away from him as possible, yet finds herself wondering if she'll see him again.
Remy, the cocky newcomer vampire, has been summoned by his maker, Bastian, to take his place beside his maker in the hierarchy of vampires inhabiting Willow Creek. He's none too thrilled to be stuck in a boring little town in the middle of nowhere, where he'll have to feed exclusively from the girl he's been paired with. He's repulsed by the whole situation.
When Sabine tries to run away from her fate, Remy is forced to follow her and bring her back. They're unwillingly thrust into each other's lives and, reluctantly, find an undeniable attraction between themselves. Will they ever look past their contempt for one another and act on their urges? Or are they destined to hate each other forever?

Fang-tastic.
If you could sum up Craving in three words, what would they be?
Sexiest Vampire Ever.
What other book might you compare Craving to and why?
Obviously there's the Twilight comparison. This was so original and fresh and filled with characters that truly capture the reader. The book sets up a larger story arc without making the reader feel cheated into a cliffhanger... Remy is an amazing character - fabulous and funny and flawed. The interplay between the two lead characters is infectious.
Which scene was your favorite?
The scene when Remy makes a confession to Beanie was fantastic. Summers writes great dialogue and the scene was really well played. Love how the narrator brought the scene to life. It was intense and arresting and really sexy.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I loved it. I imagined it would be just a retread of True Blood or Twilight...but the premise struck me as totally original and the character development is great. Remy is flat out a fabulous literary character. The fact that he has a sexy British accent is just icing on the cake.
Any additional comments?
I hope the others in the series are released soon... i'm hooked. The book is classified as erotica - but I thought that was kind of misleading and might deter some people. There is some steamy sex...but what makes this book work is the skill of the writing and the originality of the characters. It's smart and romantic and funny.

Fresh and fun.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely... I think this book is only made even more enjoyable by the performance of the narrator. The way he voices Remy is fabulous... sexy, smart and really sarcastic. He brings out all the humor in these characters - which is really a bonus.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I'd be insane if I didn't say Remy, the bad-boy British vampire who's forced to move to Willow Creek by his maker. Remy is dry and droll and full of wit... but under it all he is really a vulnerable character with a great backstory. He's a beautifully drawn anti-hero. And he's sexy as hell.
Have you listened to any of Joel Froomkin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is my first... I'll look out for more. He's lively and really commits to the performance. It's not just someone 'reading' - which I love. It's an added dimension to enjoying the material.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There is a dream sequence that was sensual and romantic and pretty amazing.
Any additional comments?
So happy I found this series... I devoured Twilight, and I actually really find these characters more engaging. There is nothing helpless about Sabine - she's a great foil for Remy and they it's totally engaging when the sparks fly between them. I'm a fan.

CRAVING more!!!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes - I loved it. I thought the characters were so well drawn, funny, real and flawed in a way that created perfect chemistry. Summers has created a great, original premise for what could be a tired theme, and filled it with two lead characters that crackle with intensity. They are smart, witty and i found this totally addictive. And the narrator only adds to enjoyment - his peformance is awesome.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Craving?
Sabine's dreams are pretty darn hot... and I love when you hear Remy's inner thoughts.
Which scene was your favorite?
There's a scene where the characters are having a really intense discussion... It was heartbreaking and I realized I had become totally invested in the story.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Dinner is served. Meet Sabine Crowley.
Any additional comments?
I was blown away by how original and how much I enjoyed the beginning of this series. If you're a Twi-hard or fan of True Blood etc. not only will you enjoy this...but you'll find it fresh, inventive and a totally entertaining experience.

Loved it.
This is a truly great read. I loved the characters so much... and the story line was original and the situation a great way to set up conflict and a long-term arc. Beanie is a great heroine - not helpless or whiny... really struggling to maintain her own individuality and not become a pawn... and Remy is one of my favorite Vampire characters since Lestat. He's a rich, complex and incredibly entertaining anti-hero. You'll love him. I was very impressed with Stephanie Summers writing and the creativity in which she brought a new scenario to vampire fare.

This would be a killer movie!
Would you listen to Craving again? Why?
I think so... the narration was great. I loved the characterization and I became really attached to these characters... Remy (the bad-boy British Vampire) in particular. He's a fabulous anti-hero. The writing is layered and the characterization builds up very skillfully through the book. Honestly I have to say she's one of the best independent author's I've come across. I am totally sold on this series and can't wait to hear book two.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Remy. Remy. Remy - omg he's sexy, witty and just impossible not to find sexy as hell.
What about Joel Froomkin’s performance did you like?
His portrayal of Remy is fabulous - witty, dry and the accent is spot-on. I've listened to some of his other work, and this is my favorite narration he's done.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
When Sabine Crowly turns 21, she's enough for someone ELSE to drink.
Any additional comments?
Seriously - I loved Twilight - and I thought this was pretty freakin' fun.

Had Me Craving More...book 2 and 3.....
I really enjoyed this story! It had me craving more, so I will continue with the other two stories in the series. The love between Sabine and Remy evolved naturally and was not forced. By the time they were married they were madly in love with each other. This was a great falling in love story but would not coinsider it erotica.
I agree with the others and think if you loved Twilight or even True Blood this is a story you would want to add to your collection. Also the writing style reminded me of Amanda Ashley.
Narrator did an amazing job, will be on the lookout for other stories narrated by Joel Froomkin.
Bought the story on sale and it was well worth the time invested in listening. I recommend to any PNR fan.

UNUSUAL & VERY ENJOYABLE PNR + AWESOME NARRATION
The Publisher's Summary says it all - poor Sabine is to sacrifice her life to an age old Treaty between the Vampires and the Town's people.... but she wasn't expecting the cocky, arrogant handsome British Vampire Remy to be the one that's going to claim her and feast on her blood for the rest of her life.
Nor was she expecting the attraction she felt towards him... and Lord only knows why because he is rude to her every chance he can, he is manipulative and really quite dislikable. However, since she found out, at the age of 18, they have come to know each other, got closer and Remy even saves her, and her friend's, lives when a mysterious stranger comes toTown and starts wooing the smitten Sabine. Remy doesn't trust him, is jealous and believes him to be a Vampire but Sabine dates him anyway and isn't convinced.... until she takes a shocking trip down to the cellar!!
A very very slow to develop romance because these two really don't hit it off and there's a lot of angst because Sabine's life is going to completely change when she turns 21 and Remy doesn't want to be tied down, doesn't want to love anyone and doesn't want to stay in one place. The story stretches for 3 years and there's a lot of character development, one actual sex scene, a little drama and some tender moments too. It ends on a happy ending but the plot continues with them over the next 2 books which are now available.
Worth a credit? Yes, it was an enjoyable story but not the usual type of Vampire listen. And, for me, what really made this listen stand out was the incredible narration by Joel Froomkin and I'm standing up applauding him right now because no matter the accents or genders - he delivered the perfect voice every single time and definitely turned a good book into a 5 star listen... thank you. And I'm off now to gorge myself with books 2 and 3.

I was gifted this audiobook by the author. I have read the story a few times and absolutely love it.
Listening to the story has bought this story to life much much more.
Remy is a vampire forced to stay in one town for the foreseeable future.
Sabine is to be a Remy's girl who he is to feed off.
The two of them hate each other and the thought of having to spend the rest of Sabines life together is not something both of them planned
The narrator really does bring each and every character to life making you apart of the story.
