A good a follow up, parts of the story frustrated me though. Valan fighting his love for Elise. I know people say their was a love triangle but in my opinion there wasn't. The world building and laying the scene for future books is excellent. The last 4 or3 hours were the best of the story. I loved the addition of more members to the Guild of Shade! I had 2 people i suspected who would betray Valan and Elise and glad it turned out to be my least liked character. The ending I suspected yet at the same time I couldn't I have guessed it. Sill I found it so enjoyable and I feel it's developed it's own world of series now and left vibes of FBAA behind.

My only gripe was I wanted more romance in the book

I enjoyed Stina Neilsen's narration and adding Valan's POV was an good addition. Tim Campbell does an adequate job of telling the story though i thin he does English and Scottish narrations the best. Not sure fantasy books are his thing.

I loved this fantasy, the world buolding is phenomenal, i feel like i was there and watching everything. The twist in the end is unexpected, i knew he was alive but didn't think that was him, the sun prince. The narrative are perfect thanks guys.
