Simon is the best delivery boy that Mr Edwards’s restaurant has ever had. He’s on time every time, and he’s gotten nothing but good reviews. But he needs more money.

His mother’s medical treatment won’t pay for itself, and his father is already working three jobs to try to make ends meet. But it might just be his lucky day: Mr. Edwards has another job for him.

It’s more delivery work, but not the usual kind. You might even say that it’s out of this world. Oh well. Beggars can’t be choosers, and the pay is fantastic.

Of course, it’s not going to be easy, and he does have to keep the whole thing secret. But come hell or high water, Simon is going to get the job done. It doesn’t matter if it’s warring demons, angry tree-folk, or ornery artificial intelligence, nothing is going to stop him from making his deliveries.

He’s not a normal delivery boy anymore—he’s a cosmic delivery boy.

The influence of audible editors to downplay how good this book is, is evident.

The difference between usa authors and others of this genre is so obvious.

Where usa authors waste 100 pages per "battle" and 200 pages per "character development" (creating 1000 pages of unnecessary reading) - the NON-usa authors add only necessary details, using an efficiency of description and flow on additions as the story develops, with a convergence of plot near the end - intelligent writing.

USA authors use "instant coffee" writing - like their coffee - weak, without substance and a rancid immediate stimulus which lasts a short time and has no lasting effect - the instant gratification to superficial information.

NON usa authors give a deep description which has you craving for more information - not the uk opium wars type of craving, but an intellectual craving ti see what happens next.

it's a pity non usa authors are not encouraged to follow up. usa authors are self promoting narcissists who think everything they do is genius.

lol - wrong.

Good basis story for interesting follow ups by an Australian author.

I found this book to be really engaging and I love the “world” building. I think this has the potential to be another great series. Thoroughly recommend.
