I heard once that readers are more empathic. This memoir has given me insight into an experience I would otherwise not have known in such detail. Coretta is a vibrant and engaging person and I loved hearing about Martin Luther King Jr from her perspective. Her own story is certainly worth telling. I also found it immensely rewarding and informative to follow the process of great change: from small protests to much larger actions - all in the name of spirit and non-violence. Honestly the bravery and commitment is astonishing.
