Another great feel good romance from Lauren Blakely. This is book 3 in the series but they are standalone also. This book was way hotter than the last 2 IMHO. Travis & Cara were high school sweethearts who never really lost that pull when they both moved on. Cara is back and the sexual attraction is off the charts. Their story is sweet and sexy in such a perfect way. As always in all Lauren Blakely books the drama is minimal and only lasts minutes. This is why I love her writing so much.

The narration is perfect cause Joe Arden & Erin Mallon are both amazing narrators.

Teaching An Old Dog New Tricks

I really enjoyed this second chance friends with benefits romance! These are classic tropes for a reason and Lauren Blakely does them so well! Amazing performances by Joe Arden and Erin Mallon make this a real treat. I will never get tired of hearing these two (individually or together) and they captured the sexy, playful, vulnerable, and electric chemistry between Cara and Tyler perfectly. Consumed by You can be enjoyed as a standalone, but characters from the previous 2 books do appear and that is where we initially meet our characters.

Tyler and Cara have quite the history and though they dated briefly in high school, nothing more has ever come from their scorching chemistry and connection. Tyler has sworn himself off from relationships and love after seeing the aftermath left in the wake of his own father's untimely death. He makes no promises for a future, but chooses to live in the present. Cara on the other hand, has a particular vision for her future and what it should contain. Unfortunately, these two cannot deny the feelings they still harbor for the other and in an attempt to "get them out of their system", the friends with benefits deal is made. But what happens when what started as just fun and indulgence begins to feel like so much more? Although Blakely doesn't reinvent the wheel with this trope, it was still emotional as our characters began to see what was so clear to everyone else. The push and pull drama thankfully occurs late in the book, and though I'm not 100% sold on Tyler's epiphany, I was glad that it resolved quickly. Overall, this was a sexy and fun listen!

Plans ...

Consumed by You by Lauren Blakely pulled me in from the very beginning. How can one not get immersed in the story with two fantastic narrators. Joe Arden and Erin Mallon are so talented! Both in their own right is awesome, but together they are magic. I loved how the main character in this book had plans. I frequently say, plans are meant to be broken, and they are only a guideline and not direction. This book has great humor, steam, and wonderful imagery. I loved how Cara and Travis met. The inner musings had me laughing out loud. Once again, I find myself smiling as I am listening to this book. Lauren Blakely's books always make me feel good when I listen. I am looking forward to listening to more books in the Fighting Fires series. This is a standalone listen.

Performance leaves much to be desired

I love Lauren Blakely's books. She is always coming up with characters to fall in love with.
The performance was a little overdone in places. The hard consonants on the endings of some words were almost comical.

Loved it

Consumed by you is a wonderful and sexy story of two people who are looking for completely different things in life but can’t deny the attraction they have for each other.
Travis, a sexy and hot volunteer fire fighter has issues with committed relationships because he’s seen what can happen if you lose that very special person in your life.
Cara is looking for more than a fling and is ready to find the right person to settle down with.
Travis is not immune to sexy a women like Cara Bailey and she can’t keep him out of her mind.
They come up with a plan which seems to work out well in the beginning but their feelings for each other deepen more than was anticipated.
What happens when things get more serious than was planned? Will they be able to walk away from what they had, just as what they originally agreed on?
I loved this story. It is playful, sexy, sweet and fun and had me chuckle a few times throughout. And not surprisingly Lauren’s love for dogs shines throughout this book. A definite recommend and another 5 star story for me.

Sizzling and Sexy Romance!

I was totally consumed by this sizzling and sexy romance! Cara and Travis have been lovers off and on for years. They both want different things in life but with an expiration date on their affairs, they make the most of their explosive chemistry. Travis doesn't do relationships after seeing the heartbreak his mother endured when his father died. But Cara is his dream girl and he can't stay away from her. Cara has always been hung up on Travis and can't move on to find Mr. Right as long as Travis is in her system. When Travis needs her help to win the Firefighter charity event, she proposes a no strings affair to help them get over each other and move on. But as their passion heats up, they don't know how to extinguish their feelings for each other. Travis is a deliciously dirty talking hero with heart and Cara is bold and confident. They were so great together and the chemistry was explosive. Narrators, Joe Arden, and Erin Mallon made this romance even sweeter and sexier. They did an amazing job with Blakely's witty banter, and bringing this playful, moving, sexy romance to life!

Another awesome story & Audio!

At this point I feel like Lauren Blakely not only has perfected her writing, but has also unlocked the key to amazing audio: fantastic narrating duos! Erin Mallon and Joe Arden sizzle, entertain, and play off of each other so well! Cara and Travis were adorable! I loved everything about them. From their banter to their inner most thoughts, the story just kept me smiling and I pretty much ignored all household duties while doing it. Lol.

Easily consumed by this story!

Lauren Blakely always gives me that feel good listen. This third book the Fighting Fire series is warm and funny with some realistic thoughts that we all have! Travis and Cara were high school sweethearts, but when it came to life after school, they both went their separate ways. Now with Cara back in town, these two have their feelings ignite again. Deciding to only be together for a good time while training Travis's dog, we have steam and passion but can feel the emotional tug from both sides. Can these two only be together casually? I love Blakely's writing, her characters always have that witty banter going back and forth as foreplay! These two are fun, full of humor and their chemistry is off the charts. The dog and the peanut butter...that just makes me laugh out loud while listening! And you certainly cannot go wrong with fire fighters!

Narrated by the talented team of Erin Mallon and Joe Arden, it's impossible not to get immersed into their lives and enjoy this couple. Given this dream team of voices, I thoroughly enjoyed their portrayal of the story and fell in love with Cara and Travis!

Travis is one hot man!!

I think this may be my favorite in this series. Travis and Cara have been "the one" for each other since they were in high school. It just took several years, and reconciling their views based on past experiences for them to realize what they wanted was right in front of--on top of and under--them.

Travis and Cara bring out the best in one another, and it was so much fun watching them slowly come to that conclusion, and accept their fate. Lauren is such an amazing writer, and how she creates such gems is beyond me, but I give thanks every time I read something new from her.

Joe Arden and Erin Mallon own these characters, and I love when they pair up for a hot and dirty romantic tale.
