Sutton Spencer's ideas for her life were fairly simple: finish graduate school and fall in love. It would be a lot simpler if she could pinpoint exactly what she should do when she graduates in less than a year. Oh, and if she could figure out how to talk to a woman without feeling like a total mess, that would be great, too. Charlotte Thompson is very much the opposite.

Amazing book
To take such a sensitive topic and spin it into an amazing story is why Jea is in my top 10 authors. This book was very intense as one of the MC is raped right at the beginning of the book which made it a tough read at times but if you can push past it it is worth it. I ended up invested in Dawn’s healing journey and how Aiden was so patient with her. It was well written with likable characters intertwined in a heartfelt storyline.

Not what I expected
This isn't your normal romance novel. It delves into serious subject matter and situations. But what I found amazing is this didn't end with catching the bad guy and getting together. The aftermath is given. where talking about 5 chapters worth. Very well done. Highly recommend!
As always Abby Craden is amazing bringing these characters to life.

Another Classic Story and Performance
Aiden is a police detective with the Portland Sex Crimes Unit. Fawn works with victims of rape and assault. When they meet at a seminar for police officers where Dawn specks on LGBTQ issues of rape and assault, Aiden is drawn to her. Can their attraction grow into something bigger? Marvelous author and performance. Recommend.

What can go wrong?
When Jae writes and Abby Craden narrates there is always a success. And this book is no different.
I loved Aiden, she is a strong balanced woman, both in her profession and her love. She reminded me of “Olivia Benson” from SUV. The story was well developed and I liked the court scenes, these scenes Iar missed in SUV.
So thank you Jae for actually detailing that.

Beautiful
Such a hard and sensitive topic that Jae managed to write so beautifully.
Abby Craden can read me the phone book and I’d listen to it on repeat. Such a great job as always Ms. Craden never disappoints.
The tact and knowledge that was put into this story was remarkable. It is not often that I like every character in a story but in this one I did (aside from the bad guy). This story made me believe love really can conquer anything. Building a relationship is hard, but add to that a traumatic situation and it becomes that much harder. The way both main character, Aiden and Dawn fought for the live they wanted was inspiring. Well done Jae!

**Warning**
It covers a heavy subject. So if you are in any way susceptible to negative sexual experiences, just don't.
I can tolerate it for a solid story, especially one told with this level of care, but even then it wasn't easy for me and I felt physically and mentally uncomfortable through the majority of the story.
That being said, I smiled ear to ear by the end of it because I truly do feel like they treated the characters with a lot of love and affection while writing this. Jae made character that can let themselves be weak in the arms of a loved one and grow from it to be stronger overall.
So by all means, if you can handle the subject matter, then there's a good chance you'll enjoy the book.
P.S. It having one of my favorite narrators helps.

This story was amazing & the narration was absolutely perfect. The story includes elements of sexual assault but beautifully illustrates the healing as well. Wonderful love story
The frustration felt by the heroine Aiden when the woman she was strongly attracted to became the victim of an extremely brutal hate crime was so well written I just couldn't stop reading. Jae is now responsible for my losing manyhours of sleep lol. I'm still only half way through but totally hooked on the slowly developing relationship between the main characters, and Abby Craden just has to be one of the best narrators I've heard so far, she tells the story so well. And although I've not finished the book yet I've already bought Book 2. Please Jae, let's have more in this series

Beautiful ending. 10/10
I think it's important to mention that this book is vastly based around sexual assault and if that's something that hints a little to close to home this book is probably not for you. Although this book is based around an awful situation it was an amazing listen. I loved the characters, their personalities and how the book teaches us that even if you become a victim of crime as long as you've got your family and friends (support) you can get through anything. 10/10 Lesbian book.
