We're a match made in hell, Stefan and I. He took me to exact his revenge. I went from being a pawn to my father to being a pawn to Stefan. The only difference is I have a ring the size of a boulder on my finger and a husband I don't want. And the hardest part is I thought he was different. I thought I was falling in love. I guess my father was right. I'm not a very smart girl. Stefan is a powerful man. He doesn't play nice, not if you're his enemy. But I've learned one thing about my husband.

Story
Stefan Sabbioni showed up uninvited in my bedroom on my 16th birthday. He stood in the shadows, smelling of whiskey and death and wrapped a broken, blood-crusted necklace around my neck. I thought he’d strangle me with it. That night, he left a message for my father. He said he’d be back to take something precious. I never delivered that message, though. I wonder if things would be different if I had because now, two years later, he’s back. And he’s not hiding in any shadows.

Concerto was like a sarabande
Having read Overture, book 1 in the North Security series, I was anxious and excited to see what would happen to Samantha Brooks violin prodigy and Liam North, her once guardian and constant protector. I didn't love this book as much as Overture, but I find that to be a trend for me. I am not the person who is going to tell you that Empire Strikes Back was the best of the original Star Wars trilogy I always preferred Return of the Jedi. I think that is for a few reasons which are mirrored in this story. First, you know going into it that you will be left with a cliff hanger and the story will be unresolved. I feel that the second book is often used to set up the third, and so it doesn't hold its own the same way the first or third will. In the case of Concerto, I felt that Samantha was a little wishy washy in her resolve. In certain parts you would see her growing up, standing up, fighting back and holding her own, only to question her own confidence a few minutes later. There is a lot of push and pull between her and Liam, which is very realistic, but at the same time made it seem like the characters didn't know where they were going or what they really wanted. I found my self thinking "huh, really?" a few times when characters made decisions. That being said the last 1/4 of the book picked up speed and there was some great intrigue and action (both kinds ;)). I definitely enjoyed this book and i recommend that it be read or listened to. Grace Grant and Teddy Hamilton were stellar as always. I am really looking forward to reading Book 3. I received a copy of this audiobook and voluntarily give my review. - Audiobook Obsession Reviewer xoxo

4 Push and Pull STARS
After the bomb that was dropped at the end of the first book protector Liam is out in full force. Loyalties will be questioned and divided. I love that Liam protects Samantha but I wish he would also let his guard down and let her in. Samantha shows growth in this book and doesn't just do as others want. I really liked that she stands up for herself. There is still plenty of answers to uncover so I'm on to the next book. Narration 4 STARS Just like in book 1 both narrators make it easy to follow along and get lost in the story. ☆Audiobook Obsession ☆

Brilliant follow up
Skye Warren never misses a chance to show you what a master of romantic suspense she truly is. You are fully engaged from minute one. I can’t stress this enough you must listen to or read Overture prior to starting this. And these are both worth the credit. Don’t even try to figure out where this is going just enjoy the ride. There are so many twists and revelations you will always be on your toes. And in true Warren fashion there is steaminess for days. You are going to blush. I can’t compliment Grace Grant and Teddy Hamilton enough. They are wildly talented. If you haven’t had the pleasure of listening to this pair before do so immediately. You will start to listen to search out their work. They could make the phone book sexy. 🎧AudiobookObsession🎧

Lots of Angst and a Surprise 3rd POV
Overall 3.5 stars Performance 4 stars Story 3 stars Concerto is book 2 in the North Security series and should only be read/listened to after Overture. Samantha and Liam's story picks up pretty much where book 1 left off, but overall there isn't a lot of action in the book. There's still angst galore in this taboo age gap romance, but it felt like the majority of the book was spent diving into the emotions and getting to know some of the supporting characters. The biggest surprise was the 3rd POV introduced briefly in the story and I'm really hoping that we see a book for him in the future. Teddy Hamilton's narration as Liam was amazing again, but there were more Samantha chapters, so a good portion of the book is performed by Grace Grant. Her male voices aren't my favorite and I'm still struggling a bit with her narration, but overall it was an enjoyable listen. The cliffhanger isn't bad in this one, but I still can't wait for Samantha and Liam's conclusion in Sonata to release! 🎧 Audiobook Obsession

Full on emotions, suspense!
Samantha and Liam are a compulsive story! Reading Concerto had my heart racing... I was quickly flipping from page to page pouring through Sam and Liam's story. Warren is s masterful writer! She has the ability to turn her characters to real boys and girls... I was ensnared in this book. There's just no other way to say it. Concerto held me captive the entire day to get through all the words! Grace Grant and Teddy Hamilton narrate pure perfection! They are perfection separately and when they narrate together. Concerto’s narration was fabulous. The story itself was suspenseful and sexy. Obsessive. Hamilton’s and Grant’s narration had a way of pulling me into the story. They brought the characters to life with a real-life-like feel. #AudioObsession

Taboo and Sexy!
This book picks up where the last one left off. Sam left for the world tour concert and Liam went to Russia to find Sam's father, who is trying to kill her. Sam finds out that the concert is going to be different that anything else she has done. The record company teamed up with a videographer for some behind the scenes actions. The leads to Sam being caught in some pretty compromising positions with Liam and some conflicts with her fellow performers. In this book we really see Sam grow into a confident woman. She starts sticking up for herself a lot in this book. There are more sexy times with Liam but there is also more action and we meet Josh, Liam's brother. One spoiler- Sam will meet her father. This book ends in heartbreak but hopefully the next book will elevate all my fears. Once again this book has duel narration, which I love. Teddy and Grace compliment each other so well. I do love all Skye Warren books. #AudioObsessionReviewer.

Book 2
Must listen to this series in order. I enjoyed this book but it is not what I expected. I don’t normally do suspense but it wasn’t to intense. Her dad was not a great man and she is paying for his wrong doings now. I really enjoyed the fun facts at the beginning of the chapters. There was some crazy revelations in this book. The narration was great. I recommend this book/series. 🎧Audiobook Obsession

Audiobook Obsession Review
This is book 2 in the North Security series. This is an age gap/guardian forbidden romance. However, I would put it in the suspense or romantic suspense category. The romance itself didn’t rev up until the end. In other words, the majority of the romance was angst driven. I found the back and forth exhausting, which I hate because I love the concept and premise. The suspense, however, was terrific. It does put you on the edge of your seat. The bits of information given at the beginning of each chapter are always interesting. Teddy Hamilton is great as always!

Plot twists, sexy time and family drama
I was desperate to see where book 2 would take Samantha and Liam. Concerto follows on directly from Overture as Samantha leaves Liam to go on her worldwide tour. Following the attempt on Samanthas’s life, Liam ensures she has adequate protection in the form of his brother Josh. However, when the threat to Samantha increases Liam is unable to stay away. Not quite as taboo as book 1, seeing as though Liam is no longer Samantha’s legal guardian, but Liam and Samantha have more to worry about than just their unbelievable chemistry. Lots of plot twists, sexy time and family drama that drew me in from the get-go. I’m so looking forward to seeing what the conclusion brings in book 3. Still loving the narration - Teddy Hamilton and Grace Grant do an admiral job.

Second book
This was a follow up book or better the second book of Liam and his kind of child protege. The story was interesting and good, but I preferred the written version a bit more than the audible one. Sometimes I had problems to follow up, maybe it was just me and I had a bad day. All in all I really like Skye Warren's books.

The Anticipation Is Killing Me!
Audiobook review. I think my chief complaint with this series is going to be the build up. It’s not necessarily a bad thing but the anticipation for seeing how Samantha and Liam figure themselves out is KILLING me. I like seeing how Samantha is building her confidence and growing. Liam seems to be hot and cold yet more sure of his feelings despite that. There’s an added twist in this book that added a stronger suspenseful element and hiked up the action. Teddy Hamilton did a wonderful job narrating. He is truly an MVP of this aspect of the romance world. Grace Grant did a better job with the male voice. She still slows down but it’s not affecting the flow as much this time around. I am looking forward to the next installment. Complimentary copy received and voluntarily reviewed.

Forbidden Romance
Concerto by Skye Warren is a forbidden romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Grace Grant. This is book two in the North Security Series. Book three Sonata is currently not released on Audio but is available in print. Also, book four Audition will be available October 29, 2019. I cannot wait to dive into the sequels. All I can say is wow! Skye did it again with an amazing sequel to Overture. I love the Dark Forbidden Romance with the Suspense throughout the novel. There are just enough sexual scenes for the romance portion, but I really love the suspense of the storyline surrounding Samantha and Liam life. Teddy and Grace are an amazing duo. They really bring the story to life. #AudiobookObessionReviwer #AudioBookObsession

Captivating sequel to this series
This story picks up where Overture left us. It was still very suspenseful, sexy and with some very intriguing developments. However, I felt like the tempo compared to the 1st book, which I really enjoyed, was a level slower. I still loved the story and it managed to keep my interest, but my expectations were set higher, I guess. The audio performance of Grace Grant and Teddy Hamilton was amazing though. If you read this, definitely take the audio version. They really gave depth to the characters and heightened the experience with this story for me. I loved the development of Samantha. She really grew a lot through this book and I admired her for finally standing up for herself and the things she wanted. Liam, on the other hand, was still a mystery to me. What were his motives? What did he want after all? What drove him? We had some glimpses in his painful past but they were not nearly enough. I’m a sucker for drama and I think I would have enjoyed learning more details about him and his background story. Sadly, I really didn’t quite understand his actions at times and couldn’t completely justify them. Maybe everything will make more sense in Sonata. Also, too many new characters were thrown into this book. And although some of their stories intrigued me, I just couldn’t fully connect with them for the short time we met them and their appearance in the book kind of slowed the inertia of the main story which is Liam and Samantha’s. I guess it’s a set up for more stories to come later and probably they are intertwined somehow, but at this point, it was too much information that I didn’t fully care about and it kind of confused me. Who is who and what they are trying to achieve? Are they some of the good guys, or the bad ones? I loved Jesse’s character though and would really want to read his story if he ever has one. The ending was intense, action-packed and with some very nail-biting moments which I really enjoyed. Now I need the 3rd installment in this series and hopefully, all the secrets would be finally revealed and everything would make perfect sense. #AudiobookObsessionReviewer

My Thoughts on Concerto
Once again Skye Warren has written an incredible book. It kept me on the edge of my seat and wanting to do nothing until I finished the story. And that ending!!! Once again with these endings that either break my heart, or leave me in suspense, or both. Liam was still such an addictive character. He was so broken and you just want him to be happy. He was definitely my favorite character in this story. But I am also super hopeful for a Josh book in future. He seems like he's got some layers that need to be peeled back. This story was brought to life by two amazing narrators. Teddy Hamilton has become a new addiction. I want to run out and grab more and more romamce he narrates. I liked Grace Grant as well. If I'm honest, I'm not sure I always felt she was believable as an 18 year old, but she was a good narrator all the same. I really hope book three comes to audio soon because I will be excitedly awaiting it. 🎧AudiobookObsession

Liam and Samantha!
Ever since Liam became her guardian six years ago Samantha has lived in a cocoon, protected at every turn but now that she is going on tour and leaving North Securities compound that is about to change. The transformation of Samantha in this story is like a caterpillar to a butterfly as she spreads her wings and embraces her independence even if her heart still belongs to Liam. It is taking all the strength that Liam has to let her go and become the woman that she is meant to be. He may not be there physically, but he knows exactly what is going on with her and at the first sign that the danger surrounding her is becoming too close nothing will keep him away. This story takes you on a twisty ride filled with great secondary characters, suspense and a chemistry and connection between Liam and Samantha that overpowers everything. I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook and thought that the narrators did a great job of bringing the emotion and angst of the story to life.
