A great series and a truly talented narrator.

This series of books is amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed each book and encourage readers who enjoy time travel to partake of a story full to the brim with romance, intrigue, sadness at times and the political atmosphere of the 17th. Century. In addition to all of this it had a wonderful ending. What more could you ask for !!

A pleasing conclusion

A more than satisfactory conclusion to an engaging series and the promise is more interesting tales if the author chooses to pursue them

The Wonderland Series

I was skeptical going into this series. I don't like "fluff" romances - I want a story with depth, character and substance. I won't say I was immediately hooked in book 1, but it was compelling enough that I kept going and when I realized I needed to find out what happened next, it was apparent that the author was succeeding in drawing me into the story. When I finished the series (5 books), I missed the characters. I'd actually go back and listen to them again - there are very few books I can say that about (Diana Gabaldon's epic Outlander series, Edward Rutherfurd's The Forest and James Michener's Chesapeake) - and while I don't put this series in the same 'league' as those marvelous works, it was a very enjoyable and memorable listen. I thought the author did a good job of injecting clever humor and sarcasm here and there (mostly in Neve's thoughts) which I really liked, and she painted truly lovely descriptions of scenes and landscapes in both eras. The editing could have been better, there were anachronisms from time to time, mostly in conversation, that were obvious enough to make me back up and listen again to see if I'd misheard something. The plot line was complex and coherent enough to keep me interested throughout all five books. At first I did not like the narrator at all, but warmed to her eventually especially in the voices of male characters. Archie's voice was my favorite, and he was my favorite overall character as well. It's my opinion (generally speaking) that if a character(s) draws from the reader/listener a strong reaction or emotion, then the author is doing a good job of telling the story. Overall, I found this 5-book series well-laid-out with events never feeling forced or improbable as related to the characters and their histories. A good story, well-told.

Each book of the 5 books in this series were excellent. They were so good that as soon as I finished one I downloaded the next one. Outlander readers will enjoy the series.

Absolutely amazing series!

This whole series of books has been amazing! I have often ended up sleeping only at dawn, as had kept listening to just one more chapter lol, because it was so addictive! Each book just got better and the writing was descriptive and beautiful. It even made me cry in places. The narrator was actually extremely good and bought each character to life. The occasional pronunciation of a word did grate a little, for example, passage was parsarge and fete was fet, but this was forgivable as she did so well overall. I can not recommend these books enough, they were worth every penny and will not disappoint. I only hope that another book is written to tell us all the story of the last character in the epilogue!! Please!!
