Publisher's Summary

This is a free excerpt of The Ricky Gervais Show: The Complete Fifth Season.

Ricky Gervais, of course, is the award-winning co-creator and star of The Office (upon which the current NBC hit series is based) and HBO's Extras. Steve Merchant, who also stars in Extras, is his long-time creative partner. Karl is a pile of protoplasm that mimics the functions of a human being.

Critic Reviews

"If Mr. Gervais made only podcasts for the rest of his career, I'd keep downloading." (The New York Times)

LOVE THESE GUYS!!!!!!!

Would you listen to Ricky Gervais Show again? Why?

I'd gladly listen to ANYTHING these guys do.

What they say is whimsical, hilarious and often quite informative.

I find them really easy to listen to and also relistening is still entertaining.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ricky Gervais. He is hilarious. I find Steve Merchant a bit unpleasant in his greater disrespect of Karl Pilkington and Karl is seriously leaden despite saying hilarious things.

Any additional comments?

Well worth listening to anything of these very different men.

I want more!

Who can't resist laughing along with Ricky Gervais & Steve Merchant at the ridiculous answers and explanations from Karl Pilkington. Great audio read to have for those days you feel miserable - listen to Karl be more miserable than yourself, and you can't help nor stop snickering and laughing as they wind him up.

Do NOT listen with a beverage in your mouth!

Monty Python of the New Millenium? Not really. Instead of doing sketches, these guys ramble and discuss random facts and events in an effort to draw out the complete moronic genius of Karl Pilkington. I love Monty, but I also love Gervais, Pilkington, and Merchant. I gave it 3 stars for story since there's not really a story. But that is of no consequence.

Hilarious

What made the experience of listening to Ricky Gervais Show the most enjoyable?

I've been a fan of the "Idiot Abroad" tv show and this was a great preview to the show.

Any additional comments?

Not their best work

What would have made Ricky Gervais Show better?

Show has been much better, this is just a really weak effort.

Has Ricky Gervais Show turned you off from other books in this genre?

No

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of the narrators?

no changes-just better writing/topic

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Ricky Gervais Show?

would have chosen another excerpt-this one is just plain bad.

Any additional comments?

yep-excerpt pretty much sucks

Gervais - Shmervias

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

No. I am glad it was only a sample and only three minutes or so as already I was bored!

What do you think your next listen will be?

Not sure yet, but it surely wont be anything from Ricky Bervais!

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Nothing. They tried to be funny and didn't succeed!

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No.

Any additional comments?

Boring and a total waste of time!

Three minutes??? What?? That is how short it was.

Three minutes??? What?? That is how short it was. No real story. It's like just an introduction about the Ricky Gervais Show.

It was a free preview of nothing.

I could not find an interesting or cohesive thought in this preview. I felt like I walked into the lounge of a sleezy hotel & only idiots were speaking. I really do enjoy RG & am truly heartbroken. I had hoped he would ride with me to work & keep me laughing.
