Harry is on a special mission.

Detective Harry Hole arrives in a steaming hot Bangkok. The Norwegian ambassador has been found dead in a seedy motel room, and Harry has been sent to investigate. This wasn't my favourite from Jo Nesbo but still really worth listening and following along. Sean Barrett was great but his accent was a not as good as other Harry Hole stories he's read. I hadn't listened to this so was happy to find it while waiting for Nesbo's new book to come out. I would still suggest this to anyone as the twists in the tale are still engaging.

Where does Cockroaches rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Up there with The Stieg Larsson Millennium Series, this book is clever, has an extensively well developed story line and the characters are believable.

What other book might you compare Cockroaches to, and why?

Stieg Larsson's Trilogy and Jussi Adler Olssen's Karl Morck Series - I am in love with Scandi Crime!

What does Sean Barrett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Sean is a genius. Simple. So entertaining, beings the characters to life, is so realistic that when 2 characters are speaking to each other in conversation, it sounds like 2 different people. Sean's voice gives the story, anymore importantly, Harry Hole's character, credibility and gravitas.

Start at the beginning and enjoy the whole 10 books in the series.

I am always prepared for a great mystery whenever I settle down to read or listen to a Jo Nesbo novel - and this is my second time around for Harry Hole!
Each of the novels is well constructed, with an intriguing plot, unexpected outcomes and above average rich use of the English language.
Each book is well informed, no matter where in the world it is located.
Every time I indulge in a little more of Jo Nesbo's writing I learn more about Norwegian culture and systems.
Beautifully narrated, I strongly recommend this book, and indeed, the whole series!
