She is whisked to safety by a trusted retired member of the suit and begins a journey of personal self-discovery as a young adult, understanding what it means to be the Queen of Hearts, and resolving to find out why her parents were killed and bringing those responsible to justice.
In Clubs, Jaq continues to build a new suit of Hearts as family members, allies and friends join the journey. The intrigue thickens, the plot evolves, and the danger becomes more imminent. Additional clues to her family history are revealed, and additional murders across the suits cause mistrust and accusations. The history and loyalty between the Clubs and Hearts is explained, but it doesn't make the partnership easy.
