I really enjoyed listening to this book. Good story line and easy to follow along with. Would recommend if you are just looking to switch off and relax.

This book is one of my all time favourites! The story of this series is amazing and I will forever be re reading them. Normally I would give it 5 stars but unfortunately I could just not get into the narrator it sounded like she had something in her mouth the whole time and it ruined the story for me which is sad. Bottom line highly recommend reading this book but not listening to it.

One of my favourite books but needs new narration

Recording is slow but sounds good on 1.2x speed. It is a bit polarizing having it read like a children's book - I do appreciate the effort but it does take away from the tone of the book - There's is an earlier comment that says similarly. Overall, I'm excited to hear more of this adventure.

Story was good as always, I love all the Shadow Hunter books. Though the narrator was a draaaaaaag. Unfortunately made it very hard to listen to.

I recall reading Cassandra Clare years ago and enjoying her thoroughly. This book I found interesting, but still somehow moderately dull. It’s a pleasant read, but not something I’d consider captivating.

This book is amazing started off a little slow for me but once I got a hold of the language and the characters I was hooked can’t wait for the next book bring it on absolutely awesome

Where to begin…

I had no idea what to expect coming into this book, but I was immediately gripped! The character arc of Tessa, from a tortured child who longed for her brother, to the girl who faced down demons, warlocks, vampires, and robots!

Not to mention the twists and turns in Tessa’s relationship with Will… what a tumultuously toxic association, whilst somehow being incredibly passionate, and simultaneously passionless at the same time! This set of circumstances provoked an ungodly urge to grab Will and shake him until he came to his senses, whilst also finding myself routing for him due to his mysteriously loveable aura and strong sense of darkness within him.

Whilst I make specific mention of the intricacies of Will and Tessa’s interactions, these subtleties are acutely evident within all of the characters relationship building.

I had so much fun with this book and cannot wait to dive further into the mysteries that are buried within the institute, the shadowhunters, and Tessa’s past.
