Publisher's Summary

If you both cheat, does that cancel the infidelity out altogether? Can you just wipe the slate clean?

Cam and Holly have a picture-perfect marriage and life: a beautiful house in the suburbs and two adorable little boys. Cam has sold his successful marketing agency to look after the boys while Holly goes full throttle on her career post-maternity leave, and everything’s peachy.

‘Til Cam discovers Holly has been having an affair with a colleague.

Heartbroken but pragmatic, Cam sees the situation as an opportunity to confess his own infidelity with his 21-year-old assistant. His thinking being a dual-infidelity situation means they cancel each other out...and their marriage will simply bounce back, and they’ll fall in love all over again. But a tangled web of lies and buried resentments makes starting over harder than he thought.

Zoë Foster Blake has written a provocative novella that rips off the glossy cling-wrap of being successful and married with young children. Clean Slate is narrated from the husband’s perspective and will invite listeners to rethink infidelity and how it can creep into a marriage.

Zoë Foster Blake is the author of 10 books, so you’d think she’d be capable of a sassier bio, frankly.

She has written four adult fiction novels, Air Kisses, Playing the Field, The Younger Man and The Wrong Girl, which was adapted into a Channel 10 network television series, four non-fiction titles, Textbook Romance, Amazinger Face, Break-Up Boss and LOVE!, and two children’s picture books, the award-winning No One Likes a Fart and soon-to-be released Back to Sleep. She is also the founder of the Australian skin care company Go-To.

Zoë lives in Melbourne with her husband and two children, who kindly let her make porridge each morning for them.

Clean Slate is her first Audible Original.

I really disliked this

I'm going against the grain here, All the positive reviews really sucked me in to listening to this. This was the most depressing, frustrating, awful book. I get that it was supposed to be realistic, and it certainly fitted in with the "high profile" yummy mummy and daddy persona, which isn't real for most people. These two characters were awful people, I actually disliked Holly more than Cam, she was so frustratingly annoying and arrogant, I didn't warm to her AT ALL. She actually reminded me of a lot of horrible yummy mummies I actually know. Perhaps that's why I disliked it so much. I'm so pleased I didn't fork out money for this. However I regret the time wasted and how the ending left a bitter taste in my mouth. I'm so sorry Zoe Foster Blake, I normally enjoy your books. On a plus side the narration was great.

Depressing

I really struggled to finish this depressing story about two selfish unlikable individuals. I really wish I had given up at the halfway point because what I really disliked most about the whole story was how it ended.

boring

very repetitive, I wasn't invested in any of the characters and nothing really happened. Its like listening to strangers argue only even more boring.

More like Zoe Foster Wakeupcall

Look, I’m quite biased as I think ZFB can do no wrong but holy moly.

This was excellent.

My only gripe is that I can’t buy it as a physical copy to force on any poor soul who dares ask me for an easy but powerful read.

Honest, real, and brimming with real takeaways and emotional lessons. Click that download button right now. Do it. You won’t regret it.

Just Terrible

The narration was terrible. The children’s narration was awful. Worse, the story is just depressing and truly a waste of time. If you enjoy two people arguing for the entire duration then this book is for you. Better, If you also enjoy a miserable start to only end in much of the same, then have a listen. I received this book as part of audibles free listens. You get what you pay for. Awful!!!!

Clean Slate....

This was an enjoyable quick listen. I don’t normally go with this genre but enjoyed it enough to maybe consider this genre in the future. Narration was good.

Loved it!

Witty, real and beautifully written. The narration was 10/10 and the story was clever and heartbreakingly realistic.. Would recommend!

Great short story

Wonderfully written! It really draws you in to the point that you feel almost voyeuristic
