Turandot verfängt sich am Ende in dem Netz, das sie selber gesponnen hat. Der Sieger verschmäht die schöne Prinzessin. Liebe und Macht sind für ihn unvereinbar. Was er zurückweist, heimst ein anderer mühelos ein - und diesmal bleibt Turandot nichts übrig, als sich darein zu fügen. Sie ist Opfer ihres Hochmuts und der Politik geworden. Regie: Otto Kurth, Musik: Rolf Unkel.
Die Geschichte stammt aus den "Märchen aus TausendundeineNacht" und wurde u.a. auch von Friedrich Schiller nachgedichtet. Die hier vorliegende Produktion erhielt den "Hörspielpreis der Kriegsblinden" im Jahr 1955. Der Autor Wolfgang Hildesheimer (1916-1991) war ein deutscher Schriftsteller und Maler.
