Publisher's Summary
The classic Charles Dickens novel, performed by one of Britain's greatest comedians
Widely considered to be Charles Dickens' greatest and best-loved work, Great Expectations was first published as a serial between December 1860 - August 1861 and has been in print ever since. The story of a young boy from humble origins who dares to dream of becoming a gentleman, it is one of Dickens' most enduring and widely adapted novels.
In this new unabridged production, star comedian and polymath Eddie Izzard infuses the story of Pip with her trademark wit and flair, and breathes new life into some of Dickens' most memorable characters, while staying completely faithful to the novel.
A unique performer and storyteller, Eddie has long held a fascination for Dickens and his work. Whether you're already well-acquainted with the story or you've never read a Charles Dickens novel, this is a must-listen.

Epic story brilliantly narrated
This is one of my favourite books and Eddie Izzard's narration has added so much more to my enjoyment of it. I had forgotten just how frightening the opening sequence where Pip meets "the convict" is, made more so by Izzard's brilliant character voices. He brings everything to life and for me personally, it is a joy to hear Dickens' brilliant words read by him, rather than hearing the words in my own voice if reading the book myself. Overall, highly recommend this particular version of the audio book. 10/10

THE best narration performance
Very little doubt that this is THE best audiobook narration performance that I have ever experienced. Do NOT hesitate from throwing yourself into this - don't be put off by the 20+hrs, it flies by because of the enjoyment you'll have. Izzard should win every award possible for this astounding achievement.

outstanding narration
it was my first time 'reading' great expectations, and I can't be happier that I listened to Eddie Izzard's rendition of it. He is simply magnificent. Not only a superb comedian, but an incredible voice actor. Can't recommend this enough.
