Editorial reviews

"Like many fond parents," Charles Dickens wrote, "I have in my heart of hearts a favourite child. And his name is David Copperfield." Copperfield is Dickens' most autobiographical creation and the novel that bears his name has influenced generations of storytellers. Narrator Patrick Tull gives a lively reading of this massive, rollicking bildungsroman, bringing to life such characters as the avuncular and hapless Mr. Micawber, the unctuous Uriah Heep, and of course, the eponymous David Copperfield himself. Those ambitious listeners who can't help but burn through all 38 hours of classic storytelling remember these characters and adventure for years.

Magical

There is only one narrator who brings to life historical characters in their truest essence. I’ve no doubt that like Patrick O’brien, if Charles Dickens had been alive to hear him, he would say Patrick Tull is the man to read my stories. Can’t give higher praise.

Creates a Brilliant Voice for Youth and Memory

I have read almost all of Dickens's novels and I find David Copperfield to be the most heart-felt of them. The faux-innocent narrative voice of David Copperfield has an almost poetic quality as the character looks back on his life.

As with all of Dickens's work, it is an explicit attempt, absolutely successful, to manipulate the reader's emotions. I loved it and appreciated the rich quality of the writing.
