Publisher's Summary

Bee

When I came to New York City, I was engaged to the man of my dreams, and I was ready to take the marketing industry by storm. But now? I'm single and working at a dead-end job with a pervy boss. It's official - this city kicked my a**. It's time to pack my bags. A blind date that my friend set up to convince me to stay is most definitely not going to change my mind. Zero chance. Goodbye NYC.

Mason

I know I have a reputation as a playboy. And I like my reputation. Relationships are for schmucks. The only reason I agreed to the blind date was because I was promised two Knicks tickets for my time. But I never expected her to pass on me. Me? Are you kidding? I'm going to prove to her that she made a mistake. I give it a week until she begs me to make good on my promises. Then I'll say goodbye to her long legs and sassy tongue and perfect....What the hell? Why don't I want to say goodbye?

Mason and Bee - City of Sin

This blind date almost didn't go past that first date. Mason & Bee maybe weren't a couple you'd think would last, but they captivated each other. Connor's narration out of the gate captured the essence of this character. He was the bad boy with the dirty mouth, and Connor sold us on that - I was all in. Vanessa Edwin as Bee, loved her too. This story had hot scenes, intrigue, corporate shenanigans, an asshole boss, more hot scenes. Highly recommended.

Sexy read!!!

Honestly, I didn’t want it to end. I was so engrossed in the characters. I fell in love with them as with all Ivy Smoaks characters. They are all wonderful. This is the sexiest book that I can think of. The scenes are “hot”!!!

Great story or redemption

The characters in this story were everything. Both Mason’s transformation as well as Bee’s to some my extent. There were a few twists I didn’t expect, but unfortunately, some parts were kind of predictable too. I love, love, love these two narrators! Although Connor Crais is relatively new, he is amazing! With both he and Vanessa, all the emotions really came through in the story and it really made it so enjoyable! The only problem with this audiobook is that the last half of the last chapter is missing!!! The epilogue is fine, but the last chapter is critical. It needs to be fixed. If it had been prior to publishing, it would have been five stars all the way! Editing!!!

great book and really hot moments.

loved the book. i only had a few moments when I struggled. i just don't care for really whining moment but those moments really fit in the story. the narrators were great. Vanessa Edwin is superb and her male voice is excellent. Now about Mr. Connor Crais...it was a really good surprise...this is my first book with him and I loved it. He's an excellent narrator and I loved his female voice. both the narrators voices work together very well. I'm really happy of this book. 😁

City of Sin 5 stars

This was my first ever book by this author and I was very impressed. You must listen to this book it is hot AF. I don't know what else to even say because this was so good, I'm pretty speechless. Vanessa is one of my favorite female narrators, what else can I say? She really embodied every part of B's personality and emotion in this book. Connor is fast becoming another favorite narrator. What ever he was doing with his voice in it, he needs to keep doing that, at least for this type of character. They are amazing together is this one.

Loved it!

The story was great, haven't been disappointed by Ivy Smoke's work. Mason is a guy you want to hate and junk punch a few times. I'm glad he redeemed himself at the end. Connor Crais did an amazing job as Mason and other characters voices. Truly talented individual. Bee is very conservative and was confused about what she wanted in her life. Mason was there to teach her and guide her. Vanessa Edwin did a great job as Bee and I loved her male voice too. Great series to follow, highly recommend!

Would have been great

Loved the story loved the performance until the last chapter got cut off in the middle of the sentence and although I loved mason and bee's story from the beginning I would have loved to get their middle and end from their POV but all and all it was a great story I loved watching mason and bee's growth through out the story! Definitely a more risky book then get other book but I think it made the book more fun

A dirty talking douche redemption story

3.5 stars I chose this book based on the narrators. I didn't read the blurb, I didn't research the author. I just dived in. I have mixed feelings on the book. On the one hand, I thought it was great, it had an A-hole character that you love to hate, who redeems himself, and don't you just love that? But on the other hand, there are some things that I just couldn’t get over. The main one being the fact that the ’hero’ slept with sex workers yet said he hated wearing condoms and slept with the heroine bare - but not before checking SHE was clean. It just felt extremely irresponsible, I thought it was done as a way to have her get an STI but no. I don't know whether it was to again showcase how douchey the hero is or if it was supposed to be sexy, but it just took me completely out of the story. And there is also a scene requiring the use of a safeword which could have used a little more conversation and explanation. The character barely knew what the word was for and nothing was said about what to do it she couldn't speak. Which was a shame. I called the hero a dirty talking douche as I was reading, and I feel that really summed him up for a good portion of the book, he does come around though. The heroine is an acquired taste, at times she drove me crazy, her inability to make a decision and have a backbone really impacted her likeability factor. I did like them together, I thought they were actually well suited and brought out the best in each other. This book has a high heat factor so if that isn't your thing, I'd give this book a pass. I adore Vanessa Edwin and her performance was fantastic. Her male voice is fantastic and she nailed all the emotions the characters were experiencing. Paired with Connor Crais is just brilliant, they really complement each other. This was my first Connor Crais audio but it won't be the last. What a book to start with. Connor was superb, he really committed to that douchy vibe of the character. His female voice was great and he delivered the bad boy redemption brilliantly.

Welcome to the City Of Sin, baby!

City of Sin is book 1 in the Men of Manhattan series, a spin off series of The Hunted Series by Ivy Smoak. This story sees the worlds of broken hearted secretary Bee, and cut off millionaire playboy Mason collide. This is a great love story, with a happy ending. You can read this as a stand alone too... but after reading/listening you will want to absorb the rest of the series, and possibly everything else Ivy has ever written too! I've read City of Sin before, so I already knew how great the story was.. but listening to it took it to a whole new level. Vanessa and Connor did a fantastic job of the narration, right down to the different voices for other characters. Something which some narrators seem to struggle with. My review would have had a 5star review overall, but for some reason the end of the last chapter cut off and skipped to the epilogue. I've tried it several times thinking I was perhaps skipping it somehow, but the same thing happened every time on the same word. I have it on my kindle too, so I just read the pages the narration skipped, but for someone who is listening for the first time and doesn't have the book, it would seem very odd. Aside from that small issue (that I'm sure will be fixed in no time), this is another fantastic story by my favourite author.
